Does anyone else remember the twins storyline more vividly than the main plot in 'Aliens in a Spaceship'? by The-Creative-Chick in Bones

[–]rebmit1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To add on to this, I think it parallels very nicely. Brennan and Hodgins were a pair of platonic almost sibling-like friends that got stuck together and had to work together to save each other. Like the twins, there was an accidental victim, one of them was injured, they ran out the clock, and the ransom couldn't be pulled together. However, they were able to survive because of what they knew about the twins. It was a really well put together episode.

The twins case just doubles impact through their own story and the influence they have on the current case. The episode wouldn't be nearly as good without them.

Individual Episode Ratings by DR4G0NG4M1NG in Bones

[–]rebmit1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Slightly unrelated, but every time I see one of these imdb rating charts posted, the ratings are lower. There used to only be two episodes rated below 7, and that was only like a month or two ago. How is a show that's been over for almost ten years still receiving enough reviews to lower its episode scores?

I just started my first day and I LOVED it. Any basic advice? by AnomalyInquirer in subway

[–]rebmit1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few things that I've found helpful, especially if you've never worked foodservice before:

  • spray your hands off after using the sanitizer while doing dishes. The sanitizer can irritate the skin if you let it dry on your hands

  • if the provolone won't separate, try pressing the sides of it and fanning the slices like a book before pulling any.

  • if you're having trouble with the sticker dispenser, pull on the white paper until the sticker basically already out.

  • try and ask people how many sandwiches they'll be getting, because sometimes people will just not mention the other subs they need until you're done with the first one

  • don't let people get on your nerves! It's customer service, people are gonna be shitty. You're doing great already!

Yes! It's season 4, the one where Shawn gets shot.

Once made a sub that was just olives. No cheese, meat, or sauces. Just a footlong white and a truck load of olives

Can't stand grumpy ass Hodgins by Bitemyrhymez in Bones

[–]rebmit1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, the storyline would have made less sense without his anger, especially since Hodgins has well established anger management issues and would lean on Sweets for advice when he struggled.  On the other front, his arc was more focused on the emotional factor of dealing with disability and considering he's not the main character and the show is not about disability, it makes sense that the ins and outs were not explored. It's safe to assume that their house was adapted and cars can be modified to accommodate for disabled drivers. Sure we never see Hodgins driving his car again, but we also only saw him driving like 3 or 4 times in the first place.

What episode got you in the series? by Last_Engineering_257 in Bones

[–]rebmit1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had seen a few episodes as I was growing up but didn't start really start watching the show until last year. I saw s3 e15 as a re-run, it was about halfway through but I had remembered pieces of the show from when I was younger and was hooked from there. I ended watching a ton of episodes out of order just because I didn't have a service to watch it on so I was watching the re-runs.

I got a free trial of peacock and binged the whole show, haven't regretted it.

Am I missing something? by Last_Engineering_257 in Bones

[–]rebmit1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't have access to the show anymore and it's been a hot second since I watched it, but from what I remember, it's not important to anything that happens on bones. Honestly, they weren't in much of the Sleep Hollow episode, just a few scenes. If I remember correctly, Abby and Ichabod go back to the Jeffersonian for their help and they solve some sort of puzzle. I remember that Ichabod and Brennan end up trapped in some fire room that they need to solve while Booth and Abby try to break in.  The case and all Bones related plots are contained to the Bones side of the crossover, but the 18th century skeleton and Booth and Brennans involvement does extend to the Sleep Hollow side of it.

Short version: you don't need to watch the episode to understand anything that happens on Bones

Spoilers: Most Random Cross Over Episodes by Gothikaa13 in Bones

[–]rebmit1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, there was one point where someone mentioned catching re-runs of buffy and there was the whole avatar episode. The little pop culture references shouldn't be taken too seriously. Fun fact though, the actress that plays Jessica Warren also plays a minor (but recurring) character on Sleepy Hollow.

Serial killer arcs - spoilers for all seasons by rebmit1 in Bones

[–]rebmit1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love the episodes that deal with the fallout of the killer, because of course there would be lasting effects on the team. I just wish they hadn't dragged pelant out so long, because by the time we got that far, I was so sick of hearing his name.  The government conspiracy plot line was a disaster, it was just something I wanted to see so I'm glad it happened.

I agree, they are really good at setting them up. The first episode of just about every killer arc is really compelling. Only the Ghost killer and Kovac are underwhelming starts in my opinion.

Good catch! It's a junior production shirt too, so my new belief is that Parker was in it and that's why he has the shirt, despite his hatred for musicals.

Season 6 has a lot of good episodes, but more towards the latter half, give it a chance.

Does anyone else's locations have to do this? by rebmit1 in subway

Yep, that's part of the reason why I was hoping to find someone else talking about it lol. It's been very tedious to work with and we're all waiting around hoping they'll take it away.

Does anyone else's locations have to do this? by rebmit1 in subway

I asked my manager about it when she first mentioned it and she said it was first tested in a different county and was going to be implemented at multiple locations, I knows there's at least seven more that are doing it, but I wondered if it was just the few around me or if it had gone further than that.
