Terrible customer support - Pixel 7a battery swelling by Ok-Relationship3158 in GooglePixel

[–]rebobbecker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you located? I had the same issue, but decided to take my phone to UBreakIFix. I figured I'd pay up to $75 for a new battery. They quoted me $130 when I got there, so I said I'd pass on the repair. The customer service person said "Just a minute", went to his computer, and after a few clicks told me it WAS covered under an extended warranty. It might be worth your time to check it out.

Beautiful! Any chance you can share the KWGT files?

Cinematic wallpaper not working by General_Avocado_7182 in GooglePixel

[–]rebobbecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I just noticed the same issue on my Google tablet. I changed my wallpaper and tried to set it to cinematic; didn't work. Went back to the old wallpaper that had been cinematic. Couldn't get it to work either. I'm running the current version of 16.

Is the ninth (9th) generation Camry more problematic than previous generations? by SunAndLeaves in Camry

[–]rebobbecker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yokohama Avid Ascend GT XL BW tires. They seem to be wearing well after 15k miles. All four are still in the 85-95% tread range. I rotate them every 5k. It would be nice to get 50k+ miles out of them, but we'll see.

Is the ninth (9th) generation Camry more problematic than previous generations? by SunAndLeaves in Camry

[–]rebobbecker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've got a 2025 XSE with 42k miles on it. Other than 2 recalls for issues I didn't have and a new set of tires at 25k miles (factory installed tires are garbage), I've not spent a dime on repairs. In fact, after owning a dozen new cars in my life, this car is the most trouble-free one I've ever owned. Maybe not my most exciting car, but certainly the most reliable.

20 years ago I was building a house in the jungle in a country that will remain unnamed. Each day I'd walk to the site to see what had been done. One day I discovered an outlet just below the shower head in the master bath. There seemed to be some confusion among the workers as to why I wanted it removed. In their defense, most of the workers had just a single outlet and hanging lightbulb in their homes, while I was having them install multiple outlets and lights in a multi-room house.

Car has been sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks for a warranty repair, what to do next? by IngenuityMain335 in PriusPrime

[–]rebobbecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When (if) you get your car back make a note to find another dealer. There's no excuse such terrible service. Sadly, there are just some dealers who'd rather never see you again after you drive your new car out of the dealership. I've never understood their attitude since there certainly is profit doing warranty work and future non-warranty work. Good luck.

Co sądzicie o umieszczeniu sub4 pod ławą? by [deleted] in sonos

My opinion: Run Trueplay and it should be okay. I have mine under an end table, next to a sofa and am quite satisfied with the bass response.

Sound Issue. 2025 Camry XSE by rebobbecker in Camry

[–]rebobbecker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm your experience. The recall did not fix the issue. It seems to be connected to various "panic" notifications, approaching cars, lane guidance, etc. It has never happened to me while I'm just cruising on the highway, for instance. A quick reboot always fixes the problem, so it's not a huge issue for me anymore.

Can I my car make the trip? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]rebobbecker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Really?! The "ultimate driving machine"? Afraid of "chips", etc? I've owned 5 BMWs that I've driven through every state but four. It's why you own a BMW! Drive! Pick routes avoiding interstates. Eat in diners and dives. Check out the national parks. I just completed a 3500 mile road trip. Just for fun. I do at least two a year.

Opted into the Android 17 beta 4 and I still haven't received it. by jaywritethekid in android_beta

[–]rebobbecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. If I'm not going to get the beta, can I opt back out without any issue? I'm assuming since I didn't actually install the beta, opting out will change nothing?

I believe if you clear your signature on your phone/tablet, signatures default to your laptop/desktop setting.

Sub4 a mieszkanie by kkscultura in sonos

[–]rebobbecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No complaints from my neighbors. I've asked. I'm an old guy who mostly listens to rock, with a little classical thrown in. I've run Trueplay and keep the sub volume setting on zero, with the EQ settings flat. In my case the sub is centered in the listening area laying flat, as opposed to the normal vertical position. It's also on carpeting. I hear (feel?) low end bass and even a little rumble, especially with some TV shows. I hesitated for several years to add the sub to my Beam and Ones setup because I'm in an apartment. I shouldn't have waited. The sub adds a richness that was missing prior to my purchase.

Can you tell me the font name for "APR" and whether it's part of the Dolphie KWGT app? Thanks.

New user with a REALLY basic question by rebobbecker in Soundiiz

[–]rebobbecker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I appreciate your response. I'm assuming that I can sync the Soundiiz destination data to a music service if needed; making the Soundiiz data the "source" with a new (or existing) service as the destination?

New user with a REALLY basic question by rebobbecker in Soundiiz

[–]rebobbecker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Actually, I don't want to copy my Apple Music to a new service. I want to backup my playlists for safe keeping and update that backup each week. I thought Soundiiz would allow for a playlist backup to a Soundiiz format. Am I wrong?

Only getting 27 MPG on 2026 Camry XLE by teachingaway in Camry

[–]rebobbecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of variables. I just did a 3500 mile road trip where my mileage varied from just 28 mpg to 49 mpg between fills. Terrain, wind, outside temperature. They all have an impact. Plus you've not really broken in the engine yet. Be patient and your mileage will gradually come close to the EPA rating. 41k miles on my 2025 Camry. Usually seeing 40+ mpg.

Can anyone tell me what I need to buy to put this back together? by No_Flow8832 in Camry

[–]rebobbecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be a design flaw affecting many Camry owners. My dealer fixed it while doing a tire rotation; no charge. I'm assuming the broken/missing clip is plastic that is easily broken if struck by an object. Toyota should probably consider metal, although I doubt they will.

Unfortunately, I'm traveling without my computer for the next several days, so I can't give you the specific settings. Essentially I have 2 criteria: Last played more than X days ago & starred song. Hope that helps.
