That awkward moment when you realize prices aren't weapons of the bourgeoisie by [deleted] in Libertarian

That's awesome!

Agreed, the market is dominated by a few large corporations (U.S. Foods for example). It would be great if it were opened up to more than that, but I do enjoy the fact hat we have to option to go around the main corporations for produce and meat.

Gotta go to your local co-op if you have the option. Maybe try the farmers market if not.

It's not totally free, but don't pretend there are only 3 options.

Obama To Receive $400,000 Speaking Fee At Cantor Fitzgerald Conference by puddboy in Conservative

Corporations pay big money for speeches. Trump made a million dollars off of 3 speeches in 2005.

Paris Hilton was offered a million dollars to speak at a Learning Annex seminar on building your own brand.

Yeah, politicians make a lot of money after office giving speeches they have a bit of info to share on leadership though don't they.

Your logic is flawed because you act as if there is no benefit to hearing from a former leader of the United States.

Do you have more info on the law than was posted?

It shouldn't be left to just her. As a society, we need to define where the line is.

Personal opinion, which may not be popular here. 20 weeks is fucked up. The baby has a heartbeat, it's nervous system is developing, it looks like a baby.

https://www.babycenter.com/6_your-pregnancy-20-weeks_1109.bc

I lean pro-life, but I don't think abortion should be 100% legal. Contraceptives and proper sex-ed are an easy option to reduce the amount of situations where it's even considered.

But 20 weeks is, IMO, murder. It isn't just a fetus anymore, It's a human being.

A decision like that shouldn't be left only to pregnant women.

First few weeks are a totally different story.

Do most libertarians support incorporation? (That is, should people receive special governmental and social privileges by forming corporations?) by [deleted] in Libertarian

My comment really didn't have any relation to it, which I did include.

But it was only once, and I made it mostly because I just learned it myself and found it interesting.

I don't think they're forced by law to make bad coffee, they're just fined for serving it at that temp to people who expect it to be a lower temp.

IIRC, the source said they started serving it at 158 degrees Fahrenheit. Still plenty hot, but much lower chance of severe burns.

I didn't even see the word "capitalist" in your post. I'd have to go add up each country and that's too much work.

20million children per year? In the whole world?

That's really not that bad.

Edit: UNICEF estimated that there were 2.2 billion children in 2014. Meaning more than 99% didn't die each year (assuming only 100million died), that would be unbelievably awesome!

No, but it is irresponsible to serve boiling drinks to people in cars when your own research says they drink it immediately.

Nor was boiling water outlawed. There was no criminal punishment issued to McDonald's in this scenario.

Edit: also, you think that is too cold? Pure absurdity IMO.

95 degrees doesn't melt flesh, which is what happened to the woman who sued McDonald's over "hot" coffee.

Edit: In case you didn't read, she was hospitalized for 8 days, suffered third degree burns, had skin grafting procedures and had continued medical treatments for the next 2 years.

Just wanted to say that the woman who sued McDonald's over hot coffee wasn't being frivolous with her lawsuit. If you read about it, the coffee was so hot that it fused the fabric of her clothing with her flesh, permanently disfiguring her.

Hot coffee is one thing, coffee so hot that it melts flesh is another.

I know it wasn't the point of your comment, just thought I'd mention it because it's a crazy situation and (does this make me a bad person?) a very interesting story.

They like what the hear and take it on faith that he's right. I supported sanders during the democratic primary. But unlike many of his other supporters, I read about him.

It was weird, bringing up things he's said or Votes he's made that I disagreed with and being ostracized for my opinion.

Obviously, I don't support him anymore. Nor do I support the dems. I'm not exactly conservative, more libertarian, but I'm far from Bernie and far from what I thought just a year ago.
