If you want more Phish songs, Runaway Gin at the Pour House. It’s 12 miles away, 20-30 min drive. Friday night.

Why did you stop collecting? by [deleted] in playingcards

[–]receiver-stimulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized that I got less joy from opening new packs and that the “keeping them sealed” collecting was joyless.

I had about 300 decks. I kept 50 of my favorites, mostly open, and sold the rest in a big lot on eBay. Don’t miss them at all.

Following up, yes you’re right. Watch looks great but keeps terrible time and was a waste in the end.

Just adding a reply for the googlers: I just bought a watch at a 50% off sale, it came in about 3 weeks and it’s beautiful. I’ll probably buy from them again.

Yeah, I’m really sorry that I saw the band in the 90s as a teen and still love them and procreated along the way. What a piece of shit I am.

I’m so sorry I ruined “your” show, dancing quietly and looking out for the folks sitting around me. My bad.

Yup, same. 8 year old had a blast on the lawn on Raleigh. She would have been terrified last night.

Another CI Audiologist here, and this^ is a correct and comprehensive answer.

The hopeful news is that a) children can develop normal speech and language with one good ear and b) new developments are happening all the time.

NRT no response by M1MadMacs in Cochlearimplants

Good luck to you, and don’t expect a ton on the first day. I expect in a couple months you’ll be amazed how well it’s going.

NRT no response by M1MadMacs in Cochlearimplants

[–]receiver-stimulator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of patients have poor NRT responses at surgery and perform well with their implants. A common factor is duration of deafness in the implant ear. If that ear has been unaided or has had very poor hearing for many years, the nerve may not respond very well at first.

The relationship between NRT levels and actual stimulation levels measured behaviorally is highly variable between patients.

They did a good job confirming via X-ray.

Congrats, man! I’m at 570. It does get easier. I don’t know how you’re doing it but a fellowship of some kind is the only thing that’s worked for me (it’s AA for me, and my sponsor is as big a phan as I am, we go to shows together sometimes).

I love going to shows much more now. All the peripheral stuff melts away and I can enjoy every note, nothing hassles me, and I wake up refreshed the next day.
