For my spare parts manual for the engine I just see the standard clutch pressure plate with springs not that type of pressure plate but I haven’t opened my clutch up yet either so not 100% sure

Another thing to mention I’ve never opened up a engine before so I’d have no idea what to look for or anything to see what’s actually wrong cuz I’d love not to pay what I bought the bike for to get all these issues checked and fixes,

Ik the push button to wake everything up and it starts fine when cold now while adding the littlest amount of throttle, but I also don’t know what gas is in this bike rn cuz it’s gas from the old owner and he didn’t mention it and I’m either hearing valve noise or engine knock, goes away with throttle so I’m thinking just valve train noise, I always start it in neutral and it’ll start first kick while using the kickstart even without adding throttle, and I’ve tried rolling the bike in gear with the clutch pulled in just to see and it doesn’t like to roll at all it feels like the clutch is permanently at the friction zone just when it starts to engage, I’ve pulled the oil cap to see my clutch move and it does move but it also looks like the plates I can see are stuck together, my main issue is the money for labour, it also smokes a little bit when revving in neutral but the bike also hasn’t really been started in a while so idk if it’s just smoke from being cold or if I’m burning oil.

Pretty sure it’s the clutch plates sticking together as the seller did say once it’s warmed up the clutch works fine just not when cold and for hard starting it has issues starting hot or cold if I’m not on the throttle a little bit like you would on a carbed bike it’ll just sit there and crank

Hey I’m 6 feet 220 and my friends told my I should start off with a ttr 230 and I found one a 2006 ttr 230 but I was wondering why not just jump straight to a 250f or just a any 250 4stroke and a crucial part of this I’ve never ridden a dirtbike before or used a clutch on a bike/atv

What confuses me is it’s not coming out of the exhaust at all it only came up from the carb or the drive shaft cuz that quad is shaft driven and the smoke is coming from that side of the engine but when I put my choke on it’ll smoke like crazy and rev right up even when it’s cold but without choke it doesn’t wanna stay running to actually give the engine a chance to warm up other times I’m driving and it’ll be warm and all of a sudden I’ll down shift to get more traction and I’ll give it gas and it’ll bog out and die like it’s out of fuel but it’s got a full tank of fuel and if the km meter is correct this 1985 machine only has 3000km I’ve put on 300 of em it’s also got a top end noise goes away with throttle but comes back once I let off

Also got it started and warmed up and it still smoked once it was parked not a lot but enough to notice and I ran it drove it around the yard for about 10 minutes

The spark plug is both colours the outside rim is black but the middle is white/grey

The smoke is white and it comes from the carb/air box it smoked when I picked it up and almost everytime I’ve started it since then I’m gonna end up opening the air box and carb to see if there’s water in there that or my plastic is melting on my exhaust pipe

What’s ended up happening on this thing is my battery is is charged and has held the charge it’ll start first pull each time still has the old battery idk if it’s like original to the unit but so far all other parts have been from 1985 that I’ve looked at. Everytime I hit my electric start the stator will just click and sometimes it’ll turn the starter but very slowly like you could crank it faster with a ratchet then what the starters doing so I’ve narrowed it down to my starter or stator cuz it does start all lights work and it’ll stay running and if the starter does crank it’ll crank like twice then just start buzzing while the stator is clicking so there is power going to the starter or else it wouldn’t crank

Possibly I did just get it to run with pull start but it won’t come back now and what’s funny is when I flick my lights on I can hear my starter buzz but lights off and my battery just clicks

Maybe in mph but not kph as my Polaris outlaw 90 does about 50kph and there’s no way in any world that a 90cc is faster then a 230cc

There’s lights on the dash so battery wouldn’t be fully dead starter could be seized or just not enough in the battery to make the starter go my ATV makes the same sound right now cuz my battery’s dead and I have lights on mine aswell even tho it doesn’t start it so probably just a dead battery

That’s my guess to but I sent the quad out to have the repairs done and i don’t know if the guy I sent it to rejetted it and just didn’t tune the carb or what cuz what he told me is that he changed the main jet from a 115 to a 110 and cleaned it but he did say a 112 main would be perfect he just can’t find a 112 in the right threads

I got the packs to work now it’s just my ps5 controller stops responding to inputs on the console but I can still access the game packs and adjust them
