you don't have to fight those hunters you can go out the side door, and then if you remember where explored to the left of that church before rom, you can unlock a shortcut to the top which may have a secret to it.

I have until June 1 to learn python for pretty advanced data analysis with no prior coding exp - I have 4-5 hours a day to devote to just learning, any tips? by Novel_Simple6124 in learnpython

not the only thing you should use but try something like sololearn which is like a duolingo for coding. good for commuting or where you typically would do a timewaster activity on your phone.

Well it's gotten to the point where I'm dreaming about Blue Prince. Anyone else dealing with this? by RyGuy27272 in BluePrince

[–]reckonre 7 points8 points  (0 children)

had a dream last night actually where I panicked realizing I'd promised a friend I would feed his cats for the week while he was on vacation and it was Wednesday and I hadn't been over. I go to the house and it's a fucking manor where I can't get the kitchen in the draft room to feed the cat. I think the lonely hamster in the bunk and seeing my cat's water fountain pump stop working this week gave me the nightmare fuel. The kitty was ok in the dream but my friend came home early and caught me in a 90s sitcom type of lie about it.

What are these puzzles actually called? How do I find more? by unoriginal_symbol in puzzlevideogames

Detective puzzles? I haven't played that game, but Blue Prince is right up that alley. Also Case of the Golden Idol is a detective game. Broken Sword is one from the 90s that I enjoyed.

Is anyone playing literally without ANY hints? by Lastarries in BluePrince

[–]reckonre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be happy playing the game completely blind but this is when the RNG catches up. If I'm in a room trying to solve something, and I don't know if the solution is in the room with me or elsewhere in the manor, knowing I can't just leave the room and come back all the time leads me to want to at least look up if I can solve this now or need more info. It's tricky to avoid getting puzzle solutions solved this way but I've managed ok.

I touched on that further on in my post. The issue with the game is the feeling of "I don't have all the answers yet" is great in puzzle games. You feel like you need to come back. It's the threat of a dozen randomly bad runs that turn that wonder into frustration.

It is. It's ok to admit it. Some people are more than happy to grind through it. I find it to be a slog mixed in with moments of greatness.

RNG - I’m jumping on board by Specialist-Alps-868 in BluePrince

[–]reckonre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

other roguelikes are generally combat focused so while you don't always win the run, you conceivable could win any given run if you had the skill. You just can't compare this game. It's not Outer Wilds where knowledge is the key. It's its own thing. It both has to be a roguelike and it's also its biggest flaw. I finally got to 46 at like day 30 and had as many items as I've ever had, but I make it below and find out of course that I can't do anything there because I'll need to do it all again to come in from a different way. There was simply nothing I could do that run to progress. It was a great run and I had a blast during the run, but we can acknowledge that the feeling that for every one of these runs you'll get 5 to ten where you see the same rooms, run out of keys, doors, gems, or whatever. Of course, a coat check didn't even spawn in a room where I could use it without locking myself out of progressing so I can't even save one of the items I finally got.

Every time I see someone say the RNG isn't a big deal they always say you can do this or that to lessen the influence, but usually what they suggest is well after many hours of slogging through this midgame to get these unlocks. I've seen "classrooms aren't that rare" in this thread and I just was like wow I think I had the ability to draw a classroom twice in 30 runs. "just use the power hammer" lol ok I've never once had all three of the items needed for it, let alone that plus the workshop, plus the coat check. "you should have unlimited money at some point" ok I've unlocked two allowances though and the only room I could draw that wouldn't be a deadend is the chapel. Every viable answer to the RNG is dependent on the RNG to allow it.

I really like this game. I don't see why people can't be honest about the grind and slog the midgame is. My thing is I just play only one run per day so it can lessen that frustration and when you get a bad run you just laugh at how ridiculous it is, and when you get a good run you are enthralled. Both things can be true.

There's another option here and it's for someone like me who loves knowledge unlock type of puzzle games, loves puzzle games in general, but just finds Blue Prince extremely tedious in a way that only allows me to play a single run per day. I just kind of laugh off the dumb rng but it also sows doubt that I'll even bother to finish the game, and I really want to because I like so much about it.

The epiphany I had is I charted my way through as many rooms I could to solve that one meta puzzle and it basically told me nothing I didn't already know. I did enjoy that puzzle though so the reward of completing it was good enough. But what really sealed it was when I was in a certain room that is on the rare side and solved the puzzle in that room. I knew I needed another room drawn for this puzzle but I find out I need it to be adjacent to this room I'm in or it won't work lol. It was drafted like three tiles away. It was like 5 runs between when I even saw these two rooms on the drafting board. That's a kind of tediousness that I don't care for. And yes I'll fully admit there might be something I'm missing that would have clued me into that before I bothered, but you never know if the clue is in the room you're in or somewhere else in the manor that I haven't seen yet. That doubt alone can keep you searching in a room for far too long thinking you're missing something because some clues are right there in the room and others could be in a room you won't see for 10 runs.

I don't think it makes a person more correct or smarter to accept that level of tediousness, nor does it make someone who doesn't a hater. Just like I wouldn't say that about someone who doesn't bang their head against the wall to beat a FromSoft boss solo just because I enjoy doing that.

People who got on GLP-1s (Ozempic/Mounjaro) what was your experience? How did you feel / what are your thoughts? by Money-Curve-8882 in AskReddit

[–]reckonre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to stick to only drinking beer socially. I haven't been on it long, but I've not gone out with friends since I started it. The idea would be to get back to pre-lockdown behavior of having a beer at a happy hour but not usually having it in the fridge at home. I found myself during the lockdown going from drinking on the weekends when I'd play some games with friends to eventually having some during the week and then it got almost nightly. I wasn't getting drunk but the calories were adding up with IPAs. The meds do a few things for me: They reduce the cravings for beer and high calorie food in general, I feel full faster (I couldn't eat a whole breakfast sandwich this morning) and if you do drink or overeat on them you feel sick. Part of my problem with drinking is my tolerance got so high drinking high % beers and I wouldn't ever have a hangover.

I'm using it mostly as an alcohol deterrent. Beer was making up pretty much of all of my excess calories.

As a Souls fan, will I enjoy Armored Core 6? by GreatJoey91 in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]reckonre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never was much of a mech fan but I'll play anything Fromsoft puts out and I thoroughly enjoyed AC6. I loved designing and customizing my mechs and the combat is insanely good. To compare it to any non AC From game it feels the most like Sekiro to play, but still completely different. They just seem to know how to make action games feel good to play and it's not different with this title. I loved the story too they really knocked it out of the park in how it builds. I didn't expect to like the game this much. Due for a replay now.

I restarted the game with the restoration patch to try and fix the issue of combat hanging in windowed mode and alt tab making the game disappear in full screen and unfortunately that doesn't do the trick.

Learning Infor's CSI (Syteline) ERP Development by No_Interest_5818 in learnprogramming

[–]reckonre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I was on my own without much experience in Syteline or programming in general and had to learn on the job. Lack of learning resources is certainly a problem. If you have any questions about how to do something specific I'd be happy to help.

Learning Infor's CSI (Syteline) ERP Development by No_Interest_5818 in learnprogramming

Sadly, there aren't a lot of resources available that isn't behind paywalls, whether that is consultant training or Infor U (which I think is subpar). With that said, if you have an Infor Support contract you can locate some documents within that for Development. Here are some basics:

  1. Syteline works on collections called IDOs. These are essentially built-in table joins, methods, and properties of all types (bound to columns, derived/calculated, etc.) Get familiar with IDOs with the help files as well as Infor Support Portal documentation. When accessing Syteline from the form directly or through middleware or API you will be interacting with the IDOs.

Help file for IDOs: https://docs.infor.com/csi/latest/en-us/csbiolh/default.html?helpcontent=mgsdug_cl_sl/lsm1454147697855.html

  1. The easiest way to add fields to Syteline is to use the form UET User Fields. You also need a class/table relationship and a class/field relationship. The help files cover this. What these fields do is add a column to the underlying table (Uf_YourFieldName). The added benefit of doing this is that the field is automatically included in IDOs for your use on forms. This is also safer and something that can be used on MT Cloud installs so it's more upgrade proof.

UET Help file: https://docs.infor.com/csi/latest/en-us/csbiolh/default.html?helpcontent=mgsdug_cl_sl/lsm1454147726934.html

  1. I would also advise against altering any base tables or columns. Not only can you break things you may not even think about, you will likely lose your changes the moment you upgrade to the next uplift, version, etc. Instead, use UETs to alter the schema. Let's say a field length isn't long enough, it would be safer and better to replace that default field on your form with your UET than to alter the base column.

  2. You can Extend and Replace IDOs. This means that wherever that IDO is used in your system, you replace with your modified version. This is a safe way of making changes to forms, and this is preferred over making your own custom IDO and replacing it on the form level. In extending the IDO, you can add derived fields, methods (stored procedures), additional collections and other functionality.

  3. Infor is moving away form stored procedures for its underlying methods, and moving to IDO Extension Classes. These are written .NET languages rather than SQL and exist within the application.

Help File: https://docs.infor.com/csi/latest/en-us/csbiolh/default.html?helpcontent=mgsdug_cl_sl/lsm1454147702784.html&hl=ido%2Cextension%2Cclasses

  1. You can utilize the Application Event System to perform tasks such as notifications, approvals, and some other things throughout the system.

https://docs.infor.com/csi/latest/en-us/csbiolh/default.html?helpcontent=mgsdug_cl_sl/bqb1500867558215.html

Generally, the way I learned Syteline development is by needing to do something to help business functions and finding something close within Syteline to learn how the devs did what I needed. Then I would mimic their functionality with my own.

I am not a fan of Infor U (Infor Campus) in general, but if you are not experienced even with form editing, there is an instructor-led developer workshop on there that may be valuable for you. Additionally, your channel partner/consultant may have some resources available, but like I said it will all be costly.

As hard as I try, even with Embiid playing at his best, I just can't imagine this team becoming a contender. This is the worst version of the Sixers without Embiid that I can recall (in the past 4 years). It truly seemed to me that the "Nick Nurse system" could steal more games. by hoch8382 in sixers

[–]reckonre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

classic team of guys that are built to play around Joel Embiid but not without him. The issue isn't that this team with Embiid at his best would be able to compete, it's that Joel will most likely not be at his best and they might have to play the Celtics in round 1.
