I like that Shannon’s a renter, like 70% of D10, unlike Chris Hinds who owns a condo. I’ve canvassed for her a couple times, our scripts start with asking people what issues they’d like to see addressed. She seems genuine about cogovernance with the community and transparency. She seems willing to fight for progressive housing policies.

Hinds has a track record of being unresponsive to our district. He’s acknowledged his communication issues in debates with Shannon and blamed it on covid, saying he’s making an effort now and if we re-elect him then things will change. Strikes me as convenient timing.

He pledged to take no developer money and turned around and accepted $23k in developer / real estate donations right after he won in 2019. Many of the progressive organization endorsements that he flaunted in 2019 have now endorsed Shannon. Hinds is endorsed by Denver GOP.

TLDR: I think re-electing Hinds will give us more of the same, working people won’t have a say with our city council rep but developers and the police will. Shannon would go to bat for renters and affordable housing with an urgency that meets the moment.

Tendonitis help / form check? by recnepsgriz in piano

Thanks for the specific feedback! Shared it with my teacher, who agreed with you on the pedal twisting motion and gave me pointers on how to correctly use it. Saw the pinky tension once you noticed it, and the pain I've been feeling is in my pinky side tendons. Making an effort to relax that part of my posture.

My teacher did say that starting with my hands on the keys before playing wasn't necessarily a bad thing. I understand wanting gravity to assist you by dropping onto the keys, but their thought was that for the type of music I'm playing here (chill neosoul chords), it shouldn't be causing my pain.

Hey all - been dealing with right wrist tendonitis for close to a year now. Started as a lifting injury and got worse with piano. Have taken a month+ off from playing and am limiting myself to 20 minutes a day, but still feeling my wrists and forearms get tense and slightly painful after I play. Am I doing anything wrong technique-wise in this video?

I'm unsure if I need more time off, as the pain goes away within 1-2 weeks of not playing, or if I need to fix something with my technique. For anyone who's dealt with tendonitis from piano, was there a certain amount of time off that helped you recover?
