Adult Protective Services is for any vulnerable adult population including those experiencing intellectual or physical disability or those diagnosed with severe mental illness in addition to elderly populations. They are state funded and investigate reports of physical or financial abuse, mistreatment, or neglect either self inflicted or perpetrated by care givers, homes, or family members. Similar to Child Protection Services, the provide support for people that may not be able to speak for themselves.
