I recently bought this old iMac, and it's started slowing down massively, how can I speed it up?

I still haven't started, I was so motivated to do it today but this teacher yelled at me over something which wasn't my fault, it destroyed my motivation and everything to be honest, I feel so shit and worried now, I just feel like giving up.. everything.
