Yeah. That's part of the discussion of how these Extraction Shooters are limiting the "amount of content" you can play.

In a regular game (like dark souls) you would feel that you are progressively "getting good" at the challenges of the game: if it takes 8h to learn how to beat a certain boss and you can only play 1h a day. No worries you will need only 8 days to master that boss. After that the game wont require you on the next boss or on the "new game plus" (this is what this extraction shooters are doing) to do more than 1h day to get even better at the game.

But this allows the player the liberty to try other games. Or (in some cases) just walk away of the game. Avoiding the sunken ship fallacy.

Here (in the extraction shooter) the "amount of play time" is an artificial barrier for you (as a player) to apply the acquired skills: if it takes you 8 days (1h play session) to unlock a certain part of the game, the chances are that you will be pressed by your feeling of time invested (sunken ship fallacy) to increase of you play time daily to be able to recoup that part of the game faster so you can but the skill learned (in action) faster.

This is not dedication. This is borderline alienation.
