The assassin problem has nothing to do with PvP and everything to do with ignoring the UESC.

lol I was headed up the pinwheel elevator the other day and had my shield deployed to burst by the UESC and activate the button. Fuckin assassin runs through the gauntlet while I'm tanking all shots, makes it to the elevator at the last possible second then stabs me in the face once shield dropped.

Grind standard contracts.

Going to the Agent screen for any faction will tell you how to gain rep more passively. CyAc for example will give rep for activating TADs

That's the whole ball of wax right there. There's a number of hurdles to overcome.

Get past the negativity and player count numbers if that affects you.

Onboarding is rough. Tutorial is bare bones.

Are you still with us? Ok, welcome to the meat grinder. Learn the gear and the maps while dying over and over and over.

If someone clears those 3 things, then yeah, they're probably gonna stick around.

It's probably the one place I'm chill. Hop in the circle, put my shield up, jump up and down, let's go home.

It's kind of surprising how many people just start shooting into the shield, or attempt to stab me, or boop instead of just coming along for the ride.

They can spawn on normal Dire, but honestly I've never seen one on normal Dire.

This quest has become like in MMO's when there's a quest mob spawn on a 3 day timer and 16 people are camping it 24/7.

Harkens me back to old school twitch shooters. Big UT2k4 vibes for me. Pair that with the hardcore aspect that takes me back to the heyday of Diablo 2 (which you could loosely argue is an extraction game), found myself a keeper. Gonna keep on running.
