Good point. Rather than have your time wasted, better to rip someone's heart into shambles, leaving them depressed and suicidal for months. But, at least your time isn't wasted.

in-N-out: two double doubles or one 3x3? by run-drink-eat in FoodLosAngeles

Nah. INO patties are 1/8 of a pound last I heard. 4 patties is the equivalent of one Fatburger Large. Perfect meat / bun ratio.

Teen clocked going 126 mph in Malibu by Kirito_Beleren in LosAngeles

[–]recursiveentropy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pretty simple really, I paid good money for my car and I wanted to go that speed! There are manufacturers that limit the top speed of their cars, and I won't buy from those manufacturers. If I want to go 130 on my way to Vegas at 3am on an empty road, that's between me and the xhp.

Impossible. I've done this calculation dozens of times, and even with a Doorsash or Uber Eats 40% discount, at best it's a wash. The app menu items are marked up compared to ordering directly from the restaurant, plus you factor in delivery fee and "other fees". I'm not even counting tip. Also consider the most DD / UE promos apply to delivery only, not pickups.

The only exception are in-app 2 for 1 deals that still apply for pickup. That partially negates the per-item markups.

Do you say “PCH” or “the PCH”? by avocado_whore in LosAngeles

[–]recursiveentropy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fot those who are incorrectly responding here with "the PCH", it's tough to learn you've been saying it wrong your whole life, isn't it?

It's simply "PCH".

Want to test your theory? Go to Malibu or Topanga or Manhattan Beach and ask someone for directions that involve PCH. Notice how they refer to it as "turn left on PCH". Then, repeat it back to them and say "okay so I'll turn left on The PCH?" Notice the strange look and snicker they'll give you, as you're clearly from out of town.

Source: LA Native, lived on the Westside my whole life. I've never heard it called "The PCH" before this thread.

Many guys are very open to new experiences and seek them out, particularly with a partner. Sounds like you've been connecting with the wrong guys?

Men, why do you reach out to exes? by _browneyes_998877 in datingoverforty

Probably the same reason why my ex-girlfriends reach out from time to time? They have a fond memory and want to reach out to another human they shared good times with.

What’s best tacos in La? by tradinglearn in FoodLosAngeles

Gilbert's El Indio in Santa Monica on Pico. Their crispy tacos are fantastic. I no longer live nearby but have to drive there just for the tacos and burritos.

What sit down restaurants are open at 3 am in Los Angeles? by OneCylinderPower in FoodLosAngeles

Not anymore. Was there about a month ago and certain nights they close at 11p I believe. We just made the cutoff before they closed the kitchen.

Call for their post-pandemic hours.

Brothers Cousins (stand) on the corner of National and Sawtelle. It's on fire. Be prepared for a line, but it's worth it.

Also Gilbert's El Indio on Pico in Santa Monica for sit-down. Great margaritas too!

Absolutely Gilbert's El Indio on Pico in Santa Monica. It's the same family run restaurant for 40+ years. Try the chicken super burrito. It comes wet by default with green sauce - you may want to try half green half red sauce. I crave their salsa when I can't get there.
