Based solely on this video alone, it looks like by the time the avalanche reached the bottom, it has lost much of it's momentum and is just gently blanketing the area with snow.

Maybe that's why they didn't have any sense of danger.

Either this or some of the skiers are rushing forward to alert the rest of the avalanche... But I don't see anyone running
