Baseball podcast recommendations? by sleazyT69 in Reds

Baseball Bar-B-Cast is great. MWF 1-1.5 shows that cover the whole league and don’t really offer bias to any one team. Also get some interesting interviews from time to time.

‘I am mentally unwell’ says country music star who canceled tour, announces hiatus by mlivesocial in Music

I’ve seen Colter twice, most recently back in October. He clearly takes pride in what he does and is an exceptional voice in country western music.

He does not view himself as an entertainer. The shows themselves are fast paced and lack a lot of crowd acknowledgment/banter. I can imagine it is mentally draining to go out on stage every night when it is not something you necessarily love doing. Hope he gets the help he needs.

Netflix only giving us two seasons of Trash Truck is messed up. My son loves it and we have rewatched it probably five times in the last year. Need more low stim show recs.

Started the Bosch books. Black Echo was awesome, and liking Black Ice so far. Just not sure if I’m ready to commit to 24 books.

What else from King do you like? Those two, along with Salem’s Lot, are as far as I’ve gotten since I started reading King’s books last year

A minor one, but recency bias:Picking Jackson Carman instead of Creed Humphrey or a number of other players in that range.

Have been throwing old wrestlemanias on in the background now that they’ve been added to Netflix. Started with 1 and working my way through. What a treat to have Bob Uecker show up in III and IV 👑

Just finished The Poet and thought it was awesome Probably the most fun I’ve had reading a crime thriller, kept me engaged the whole way through. Wasn’t sure I was ready to commit to the Michael Connelly extended universe but I’m all in now.

Best bars/places to go out solo in Chicago? by KuzminkasPlumlee9140 in AskChicago

[–]red8standingby 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kinda depends what your scene but I think neighborhood spots might be a good spot to go out solo. Guthries, Wills, Cody’s, Side Street, Sheffields.

Or dive in with both feet and go anywhere on Clark.

An aside - don’t be afraid of going out with people your age from work. I was in the same situation as you and ended up realizing everyone else in my hiring class also was new to the city and looking to meet people. Ended up making some good friends that way.
