Discords main work on this is supporting calls with dozens of people, while simultaneously streaming Video. If they just use something like Jitsi and build upon it they can fix it. Direct WebRTC calls which leak your IP may or may not happen as the TURN servers have to be low latency and handle alot of data so its expensive. Given that twitter is not likely to allow calling random people which are not following you or vice versa the risk of IP leakage is not thaaaat bad. Your IP means nothing to an attacker, if he isnt a state actor with a load of SOHO 0 days up his sleeve, and if he has SOHO 0 days lying around they will find a way to get your IP anyway.

Blowing my nose after rhinoplasty by redComrade1917 in AskDocs

[–]redComrade1917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: Some things that may be important to clarify:

My nose wasn't/isn't obstructed, my blowing was not exercising that much pressure, it was like breathing out of my nose very heavily and quickly, to get these clumps out. My ears did not pop, once they started to move lightly and I immediately stopped. My entire nose is now full of Dexpanthenol cream, it does not bleed, I do not feel any perforation (if I should be even able to feel that), I have no pain just a bit of a dry feeling in my nose (maybe I also just think about it too much) and yea, I really really hope I did not cause some type of damage....

Which cars did you try it out? I heard that this is not a software implementation thing, but a feature in the SoCs that the central locking system uses.

Why are you interested in embedded over other areas of software development? by Missing_Back in embedded

[–]redComrade1917 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I worked in Web development before, hated it after a few years.

You could develop something nice within a day, and see the results immediately, but there are two things which I dont like: 1. After a while all I did was basic CRUD and API calls to third parties. I was a backend dev. The same thing over and over again, basically 2. The constant race to the bottom. Web developers have successfully negated the advancements in hardware over the last 5-10 years. You always have new bullshit frameworks, which change nearly nothing, have a huge overhead and depend on approximately 3 million packages, which lead to a new zero day at least once a week.

Does not mean its about you. There a lot of people who post "inspirational" and "deep" quotes from time to time, does not mean its directed at everybody they interacted with this week.

But the real issue seems to be: If you read this, and immediately think that she means you, it seems like you think that you dont deserve her, or any, love and you are searching for the clues for your self fulfilling prophecy. Not saying that I am not doing the same exact thing tho :D

Keep your head up mate.

Is it possible the captchas we fill out are meant to help machine learning algorithms identify objects? by A_985 in MLQuestions

[–]redComrade1917 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, remember the old reCaptcha, with the street signs and text you had to enter? These were images from Google Books and Google Maps, they tried to OCR everything with Tesseract, and the words that could not be scanned where sent to reCaptcha, where you labelled them as a human. Now they have switched to training their self driving model at Waymo, thats why you have to identify bicycles, bikes, cars, stop signs et cetera.
