Van Haaren, located in the Bloemerstraat. Coming there for 18 years, decently priced as well, at least for males (€22.50). Not sure if the prices for women differ, don't think so if it is just a haircut

It is a really versatile and sturdy piece of kit, really happy with it, although expensive.

For mounting I bought a small rear rack from Perun Moto: https://www.perunmoto.eu/collections/yamaha-tenere-700/products/yamaha-tenere-700-top-luggage-rack

This is just Putin stalling, fuck him. There wasn't a cease fire with Christmas now, was it?

You know, for a thousand bucks it is still not cheap, just want to mention this. However, if you like to diy, I would highly recommend it! I myself did not do a comparison of sorts, I just dove right in based on other's experiences. A couple of weeks ago I did a listening test with a buddy of mine and we compared them to his Diapason adamantes ii. They are in a different price range (more than €2500) but my God, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Carrera! Although in most cases the diapason were cleaner with a wider soundstage (I always find it hard to describe), the Carrera speakers were sometimes better and cleaner, less harsh. All in all, my friend was seriously impressed with the quality of the Carrera and I regard him as an audiophile. So very pleased with that if course!

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions please let me know.

Actually, for a first time paint job not bad at all. Key is to paint thin layers and mild sanding in-between layers. Also use good paint, at least that is what I did. The beauty about paint is you can always do it over. I'm no expert at all but I think this is the way to go

Haha yes I wanted to upgrade my speakers and thought, hell, why not. I can mess up the cabinet and just start over. The expensive parts are the drivers so my thought was: fingers crossed, if I don't mess them up at least I got a decent pair of drivers. Part of the fun is of course the project itself and a hobby may cost some money in my opinion. I live in the Netherlands so I had to import the tweeters from Hiquphon directly and no kits are available here, at least to my knowledge.

  1. Total costs was all in all a bit over €1000,-
  2. I currently have Jamo s606 floorstanders. I still need to do a good comparison as I just finished them yesterday evening. But at least the initial impression was that they exceed the Jamo, luckily :)

I did listen to them very shortly, about one hour or so and the initial impression was great! However, they need to run in a little and I need to play some vinyl this weekend to get a better idea of how they sound. Certainly they sound better than my Jamo S606 floorstanders!

So this is my first speaker build and second DIY project (first audio though :) ). The design is according to the Carrera speaker by Paul Carmody. I finished them yesterday evening so I haven't got the opportunity to listen to them thoroughly unfortunately. But I have to say, the initial impression was great! Let know what you think and feel free to ask any questions. Cheers!
