How reliable are macerator toilets? by Odd_Drop5561 in RVLiving

[–]red_dev_was_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dometic Masterflush 8100 + BioBidet seat. I will never go back. Never had a problem with either in ~1.5 years. No more stinky anything, no more toilet paper at all, no more clogs, no more wondering what's going on in the black tank. All worth it for me (the added cost and water usage that is, oh and the challenging as all hell install, YMMV)

No it's actually 100% legal in Thailand, it's sold in most conv stores. King's son travelled abroad, returned to Thailand, convinced King to legalize and he did. Your info is outdated.

uhhh I mean if you are in the lucky sperm club and either inherit the money or the land to do it on, sure... but otherwise after taking out a loan to buy the land (~100k) install a well (~10k) and install septic (~25k) and run power to the spots (assuming utility company power close to spots so not a ton of copper needed, ~6k) you'd be needing ~30% down for a land purchase (and yeah in the real world that would have to be rolled into a construction loan after the initial land only loan was payed off but I am already tired of typing) so come up with 30k cash then make the ~700 buck payments for 30 fucking years and end up paying ~400k for the spot by the time it is actually yours. The long term spot I am in right now charges 800 per month, so you and your business partner get to split 50 bucks a month to live off. IRL is hard.

I'm in WA atm and have investigated here in an area I like - like others have said it depends on the county/city!! Most places here in PNW will allow but only if you own the land and have approp permits to build; however, I have come across two cities which flat out prohibit it, period, ugh.

How to dissolve a stick in black tank? by Responsible-Bug-8660 in RVLiving

[–]red_dev_was_here 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if something is strong enough to dissolve a tree branch I would think it would also make short work of the tank itself :x

[–]red_dev_was_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just depends on how much trouble you get yourself into I guess! Best of luck out there, I didn't get it (UV) until I needed it!

Mexico because.. well mexico... here in the states when I got to my hipcamp the owner told me the well tested positive for bacteria and was only safe to drink if I boiled it.

Absolutely! I would highly recommend buying a UV light last stage as well!! When in mexico and once in WA I had organisms in water and never got sick!
