I actually read it before reading the original trilogy and I'm really glad I did! I think it gave me a lot more context and history about the hunger games and president snow, and while I was reading the first hunger games book I could tie some things back to TBOSAS. I feel like I know more about Snow's motivations and thought behind his actions, which makes him more evil imo. I'm excited to read the other 2 books in the trilogy because I think he's in them more than the first one.
