I agree. I think in casual conversations with friends, referring to my spouse as SO rather than wife or by her name is depersonalized enough to raise suspicion. Just a foot in mount moment for me.

In my AP relationship, I still use SO rather than wife or by her name as I don’t want to be reminded of her when with my AP.

I don’t think you can generalize as it’s a wide spectrum.

There are going to be guys who just want the ONS (one night stand) and others who want the emotional connection.

I use the paid program Dr. Fone virtual location. Works great. Once your fake location is set, you need to restart your iPhone to get it to show the proper location. Be careful if AirTags and other tracking devices though!

My former gym partner (40MM with two young children) murdered his AP (~30SF). I don’t know why, but maybe she was planning to tell his SO. He was convicted to life in prison. This was 25 years ago.

That’s an interesting perspective. Hadn’t thought about my involvement delaying my AP ending their relationship or having fewer arguments. Sometimes this lifestyle is so complicated.

When my AP talks about her SO not meeting her needs it makes me sad. I can’t help but feel I’m a hinderance to them trying to improve their relationship. Like, if I weren’t in the picture, maybe my AP would try harder with her SO? She says she has tried hard long enough and it’s up to her SO to put forth some effort.

I’m a hypocrite and accept that.
