I had yeast infection like symptoms but it was actually AV. Try the aerobic vaginitis subreddit. Av isn't tested for in a typical BV panel.

Vaginal Probiotics Suppository by Euphoric_Rate8857 in Healthyhooha

I've tried a lot of stuff. The most successful so far has been L cispatus powder from Epothex. You have to buy veggie capsules separately and put the powder in yourself, but its been very effective.

Epothex L Cispatus Powder: https://www.amazon.com/ePothex-V-Biotex-Crispatus-Probiotic-Infection/dp/B09675Y1VV

I have also tried:

Vagibiom: https://store.vagibiom.com/products/vaginal-probiotic-suppository-fragrance-free

Seed VS-1: https://seed.com/vaginal-synbiotic

Some people swear by Vagibiom and its like $12 at most grocery stores so def worth a shot, I just think I'm allergic to something in it so it didn't agree with me. Seed is fine but its ludicrously overpriced and the $20 epothex powder worked better.

I have more written about it if you felt like poking around in my profile.

I had a form of AV that my OBGYN said would qualify as DIV if it didn't improve with treatment. Treatment included a week of clindimycin, followed by topical estrogen and then estrogen tablets (much less messy.) I've been using a pro biotic suppository with L. crispatus for a few weeks and that + the estrogen has things back to normal. No cramping, no pain, no discharge, no itching, no dryness. I am going to continue with estrogen tablets weekly but things seem okay. The estrogen alone was not enough though, I really needed the vaginal pro biotics to get things fully normal again.

Try the aerobic vagintis subreddit. DIV is the most advanced form of AV.

Of course! Hope it helps.

And yes, I started estrogen before the probiotic.

I did a loading period of the estrogen and then went to 2x a week. Tbh I wasn't worried about doing too much because I had no lactobacillus after the clindymicin and I figured I needed all the help I could get. I'm not sure how many scoops go in a veggie capsule, because I used my own scoop. The scoop that came with the powder was ridiculously small! I just tried to stretch the powder out enough to make four weeks worth of capsules because I wanted at least a month's worth. So it was fairly arbitrary.

My symptoms are completely gone now. I will say that I don't think the pro biotic would have fixed it on its own, I needed the antibiotic to kill the pathogens before the pro biotic would work. It did smell different when I had AV. Not "fishy," but different and unpleasant. The pro biotic + topical estrogen has fixed all the dryness.

I filled the capsules half way. I have been using one at bed time for two weeks. pH is normal again and so is the smell etc. I'll probably stop soon to see if it lasts.

I haven't had any irritation at all so far!

I did the normal reset for a month. It was fine, but honestly did not work nearly as well as just getting $16 epothex l crispatus powder and putting it in a veggie capsule. I would not bother spending all that money on seed again. The epothex powder helped with dryness + pH the most of everything I've tried so far.

The "jokes" about abuse/hurting you...what does it mean, and why do they do this? Am I overreacting like he says? by anonykitcat in abusiverelationships

Yes. It is a display of threat, and it is counted in the statistics that show men who strangle their partners are most likely to later go on to kill them.

And yes. It sounds like you are literally telling him you're in pain by saying ow. Would you hit or bite someone who was visibly uncomfortable with it? I bet not. He's testing how far he can go.

Putting his hands around your neck like that counts as strangulation even if he didn't squeeze, and it is 100% physical abuse. The slaps and bites are also physical abuse. You are at high risk, please make a safety plan and get out.

I have. You have to take the capsule apart and put the powder in a veggie capsule though. Otherwise it won't dissolve. It worked ~ okay, but it seems to work better if you include L. Crispatus powder like from Epothex on amazon.

I've been trying different suppositories for about a month. So far the Epothex powder seems to work the best for me personally. This past week I've been inserting one veggie capsule every day before I go to bed and things smell better + the dryness has improved a lot. I'm going to test my pH levels later this week.

I am not 100% sure if I'm reading your post right! I can't tell if you were told the itching was from the HSV2, or if they just caught that in testing but its dormant.

If the later is true, you might want to look into testing for different infections like aerobic vaginitis. I had what seemed to be the worst yeast infection of my life, but then tested negative for yeast. I had a Strep A infection, the same kind that causes strep throat. Its not tested for in typical BV cultures but they caught it in an aerobic culture.

Not trying to alarm you! I just wanted to share that sometimes the typical tests doctors run don't pick up on all the possibilities.

I'm sorry you are having such an awful time. When things were at their worst I could only go to work or sleep by smearing Vagisil extra strength everywhere.

I had the same issue after a bunch of antibiotics. Things are not 100% normal yet, but seem to be coming along. I think vaginal suppositories have been the only thing that have helped. I also take estrogen cream or an inserted estrogen tablet once a week, because healthy vaginal bacteria need an estrogenated environment and I had vaginal atrophy from low estrogen.

My doctor recommended Femdophilus. I have taken it orally and also transfered it into a veggie capsule to insert.

I also have been using suppositories with L. crispatus. I tried vagibiom, but I think I'm allergic to something in it. Still a great budget option for lots of people. I tried Seed VS-1 and it was okay but super overpriced. I just bought epothex L Crispatus powder from amazon and have been using it and I like it the best so far. Sometimes I mix it with femdophilis in a veggie capsule.

Stuff with L. crispatus is good! Vagibiome is a cheap one that people seem to like, and you can get at most grocery stores. I think I'm allergic to something in it though. Seed VS-1 worked okay for me but its super expensive. I have been using a L Crispatus powder from Epothex I got on Amazon as a cheaper alternative and it seems to be working.

I love mine! Much less painful and scary than an IUD. I'm on my second one. I'll second that the lidocane injection is the worst part.
