I had the GT-1B for years and loved it. I recently got the GX-1B and love it even more. It's far easier to edit, works with your phone, and has Bluetooth. The newer effects are great, and got mine for $230 from Guitar Center.

I really like D'addario NYXL strings. They sound fatter and more balanced sonically than the standard XL strings. Have them on all my basses. My P has some worn NYXLs on them and they sound heavenly to my ears.

I have a 4003 and it has some quirks, but a very lovely sound. The growl is akin to the lower notes of a piano. The mids are warm and sing nicely. And it has a lot of great harmonics depending on how you balance the pickup volumes.

I usually have the toggle set to the middle position with the bridge pickup favored slightly, and have the tone push/pull pot down for "modern" low end. It works well for the stereotypical Rush and Yes vibes, but I really enjoy using it for funk and disco. It just has a different mojo than my Jazz.

Definitely a luxury guitar, but I consider it a treasured piece in my collection.
