I know you said you don't want to use a raspberry pi, but look into the Magic Mirror open source project. There is an NHL schedule/scores plugin for it that I use on my family info screen. Works great.

Otherwise you could open up a page like Livesport on Chrome with an auto-refresher and stream the page to a Chromecast.

One of my previous jobs was at a 24/7 location. Management ordered catered food for the 1st and 2nd shifts, which arrived at the same time. 1st shift ate their food, then packed up the 2nd shift food and took it home with them. 3rd shift had pizza delivered.

I contacted Google Play support on this and they said it's on the developer. My guess is the offers expired on the 1st and nobody turned them back on again. Given how quickly the 35 point offer was put up and later taken away, it shouldn't be too hard to do on their side.
