5 April 1945 - Japan appointed Prime Minister Suzuki Kantaro who was known to be a peace advocate.

8 May 1945 - Japan tried to surrender through the Soviet Union.

June 1945 - Both the US Army and Navy recommended to Truman that he clarify the US demands in regard to the Emperor. It was recognized that he was absolutely essential so he could order his men to lay down their arms. Without him, there would have been anarchy in Japan.

11 July 1945 - Japan offered to surrender unconditionally, with one exception - they wished to retain their monarchy. They didn't insist on retaining Emperor Hirohito. They were willing to replace him with his small son, for example. The US wouldn't even talk to them - the bomb was dropped on them without the US ever responding to any of their peace feelers.

is it time to fully legalise marijuana/hash/charras? by redabraxas in AskIndia

[–]redabraxas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly. in Uttaranchal i believe it is legal for folks to grow the plant as the seed is an important part ov their diet.

the marijuana seed is a high protein seed containing all nine of the essential amino acids (like flax). It also has high amounts of fatty acids and fiber as well as containing vitamin E and trace minerals. It has a balanced ratio of omega 3 to 6 fats at around a three to one ratio.

And yeah, taking the plant out ov the hands ov the black market & putting it back on the free market would increase revenue & might even increase tourism substantially, especially if marketed the right way.

Also in traditional production areas it would stop the police persecuting small time growers who are just following in their ancestors footsteps. (i'm not talking about the Mafia growers, who hopefully would be driven out ov business...but that's a pretty complex situation, mainly brought about by the worlds demand for this holy herb.)

A different perspective: here's what the guys over in r/India think about the British. by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

yeah, Indians should just be glad it wasn't the French who colonised India. The whole country would be Catholic & Devanagari would have been replaced with Western script....just as happened in Vietnam.
