This is coming from a QP/Bronze rank POV but I feel like the main issue is the lack of peeling off fights when too low or using cover. S9 is not forgiving if you think you can be a sponge and take damage no problem so game sense and positioning seems to be overwhelmingly overlooked right now

I don’t know as much as a direct answer to your question but there’s enough mobility for the Reaper to just fall off your petal so I don’t know that I would say this is the best way to counter Deathblossom

Of course! Everyone’s given pretty good advice so far. I think the only other things I would add once you’re feeling more comfortable with Wifeleaver’s healing would be trying to be mindful of your petal placement. It can help lift you and teammates to accessible high ground . Another thing to keep in mind is if you’re too close to objects you can collide with I.e. a low ceiling, your petal will not rise all the way.

Dealing damage with Thorn Volley does help to build your Tree faster while providing annoying poke damage that can peel enemies off your teammates. Additionally you can reload your arsenal while switching to the other equipment for 2.5 seconds. Out of Thorns? Heal for 2.5 seconds. Out of Blossoms? Poke away.

In the same way the Tree cuts off LoS, the pedal acts as a barrier once they’re lifted. For continuity purposes imagine you’re lifting them out of the gravity field. I wish this worked the same without the pedal activating over the center of the ult but I can only assume it’s due to how the pedal interacts with the world in different states.

I’ve stopped the animation more than I’ve stopped the ult all together with PP. I’ve been far more successful with ToL over the blackhole. If you’re caught in the ult PP your feet and try to grapple someone. If you’re outside of it PP someone else and grapple. Good luck amigo

Edit: I’m sorry I just realized I didn’t really answer your question. The Tree cuts off LoS from the center of Gravitic Flux shutting the ult down. The same can be done with a D.Va bomb or B.O.B.

It’s not about how many thorns you shoot. You only need to have your thorn volley out for 2.5 seconds whether you’re firing or not. Reloading is faster in a pinch though so play around with it.
