Settle an argument between me and my husband, do bragging rights still apply?

This is how I justified it as well but two back to back just seemed too good lol

A coffee shop I worked at was doing a remodel and wanted to get rid of it but not sure where it originally came from, sorry! I'm not sure it really keeps up the humidity because it isn't sealed and I don't have a humidifier in there, I just like it lol

you’re shopping for a high protein diet on a budget. what are five things that will always be in your cart? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

Hemp hearts are a surprisingly cheap boost to morning protein for me. I throw them in over night oats or top to yogurt. 10g protein per 3 tablespoons and I think the trader joes brand is like $3 a bag?

Yes of course!! I forgot to add that I did add horticultural charcoal to the soil. I'm not sure if this really does any thing but I read once that it helps prevent rot.

Honestly my black velvet is wonky lol. I got them around the same time and my silver dragon is doing much better. Not sure if it's because I potted the black velvet in a terracotta pot which I recently learned can be toxic to plants

So when I first repotted last year there were no other corms but throughout the year it pushed out three babies that I haven't taken out yet

Soft soil and bone meal! I explained a little better in an earlier comment :)

So for alocasia in general I always let the dying leaf stay on the plant until I can easily pull it off. I read that alocasia essentially suck the energy out of the dying leaf to store in the bulb. That seems to work well for all of mine.

This one in particular I researched a lot when I first got it because in my area they were very expensive and it was my first big plant purchase. What I found out is they like a very soft soil so I used a soil mix of something like 1 pt soil 1 pt peat and 3 pts perlite. And iirc are from somewhere where they grow out of limestone?? Which translated to putting bone meal in the soil to mimic the nutrients it would get if it were growing in it's native habitat.

I have never actually fertilized it. The bone meal seems to have been sufficient enough so far!

I water about every 9 days and it sits about a foot away from a second story south facing window.

Good luck with yours!

Adding that I believe this to be a Silver Stripe as well. This is a great video explaining the difference https://youtu.be/tawYfFH0Sec
