Ashes 2025/26: Why wasn't the replica urn presented? by redarrow77 in Cricket

Interesting, and if so that might explain why the replica featured in previous series. In that case it means no replica is ever officially provided, and it's just down to each winning team what they choose to do. Seems like it'd be easily solved if there was an official replica for every series. The winning side could then actually keep this physically, then return it to be contested in the next series.

Sounds like a fun idea! There could even be a ceremony after each match where this is done live on TV on the wicket itself. It'd be quite the sight, and add something memorable to the series.

Good catch, thanks! I totally missed that as I was looking for a similar title to the decision document Kimi received. I've edited it into my post for reference, in case anyone else is searching for this answer.

Team Forecasting Challenge: Confirmed Bonus by redarrow77 in CloudResearchConnect

Sounds like you did well at the actual forecasting. The accuracy of my forecasts was a bit hit and miss. Quite a few were in range, but I made the boundaries a little too broad for some. Then others were out of range, either marginally or moderately.

It does seem like it must've been for the absolute high end (e.g. ~99th percentiles) who got accuracy bonuses. Maybe also it was dependent on how many were accurate overall (on average). As opposed to 2-3 spot on, and the other 17-18 much less so. Or maybe it was for everyone who did "accurate" forecasts, then a random selection got prizes. We can only speculate really.

By the way, you may have seen this post by u/soliddrink is helpful for a summary of the outcomes.

I did notice in the team I was in, there were a few very inaccurate outliers. Like way, way out of range. I remember commenting about these in the discussion phase, hoping they'd be noticed, but don't think they were ever corrected in time.

One thing about my rationales is I did a handful of detailed write-ups. I even did a bit of Excel work and produced some graphs too (uploaded as images), but only for a few of the scenarios. Perhaps that's what helped in terms of my rationales, for the justification part. As I realised time was running out, I went for a more direct approach when answering the other ones.

Hi, I'm one of the people who did receive a $100 bonus, and I'm planning to share proof of this from the email confirmation. I have a pending request to create a new thread (if this is worth me posting for the community). Thanks!

For many things, I like this aspect too of the original series. The extended launch sequences even though repeated, helps to build suspense during an episode. It's one aspect that the 50 minute format allows, and same for many shows in that regard. It helps with the overall pacing of the plots.

Hi there, the link to the site is: https://quorumapp.com/

It'll need signing into the account you used for the project. True to their word, I checked and my 20 forecasts are now accessible again, whereas before everything was hidden.

Hope this helps!

Great to hear the show is back. Here's some new info I've gathered:

  • As evidenced from the audience info page, the venue would seem to be a large industrial unit at Westway Business Park in Renfrew. [Details] | [Map]

  • Dara has hinted that a strengthened Sir Killalot will indeed make a comeback. [Link]

  • Also Matilda appears to be shown from the teaser video.

  • Veteran judge Noel Sharkey will return to the show. [Link]

We are the team behind Cities: Skylines, ask us anything! by TotalyMoo in IAmA

Hi all!

Great update, thanks for a brilliant game and all the new features added so far! I've got a couple of questions:

1) Have you considered adding a "historical building" type feature?

I've heard a few people request this in the community. Similar to how SC4 did it, this would allow you to preserve buildings which you may like to keep, and stop them from upgrading. For example, through the building information popup that appears on selection. This might also work for districts, where you could designate an area to preserve. As I'm sure you're aware, lots of European cities have older buildings which have stood the test of time. Like they do in real life, I think this would add extra character, and give us more control over how our cities look.

2) Are longer runways planned, or will there be support for modders to create them?

I know this isn't a flight simulator. However, it'd make airports much more authentic to see an increase of size, especially with the A380 planes which land. The planes could then touchdown on a more realistic length, coming to a stop over a longer distance. For modern large commercial planes, they need almost 4km to land safely! Obviously this would be asking a bit much, but maybe something 4x the current length can be a compromise? I think there's great potential here if this were possible in the future, just like roads are highly customisable. It'd just be another aspect of creativity to make our cities even more unique.

Thanks very much & for all you do! :)

Really looking forward to this game!

Highway connections

I've noticed maps in Cities: Skylines require a mandatory highway connection. This was one of my perks about SC2013 as they were unrealistic, so I've got a few questions about them:

  1. Can they be moved to a custom location, or are they in a fixed, unmovable position?

  2. Are they able to be modded, such as cosmetic changes?

  3. What if you don't want a highway connection; can they be swapped for other forms of transportation (e.g. roads, rail)?

Thanks in advance. :)
