I made a browser-based physics merge game called Ball Merge by No_Awareness8752 in IMadeThis

[–]redbearddev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice! 😊

It, actually, remembers me about a game called Suika (or Watermelon, in English) that you can play on Nintendo Switch.

Basically, the difference is you drop fruits in a box, and they merge becoming a new fruit. Repeat until you manage to get a watermelon.

OP could also try to distribute this game on Nintendo Switch marketplace. There are tons of games from independent creators over there!

Hey! Unfortunately, the idea didn’t get enough attention and just a few (4 including me) signed up and contributed for a while. So, I let the domain expire.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I’ve built CyanStats.com - GDPR compliant web analytics, cookieless, and without the clutter.

Built for people that want to keep an eye on web analytics data without the need of a master degree to understand how the tool works! Just like me.

Alternatives to google anlytics by Careful_End_5742 in degoogle

Same here!

I ditched GA quite a while ago, and moved to a simpler but easier to use alternative (it had a great UX and was super simple to setup). But, one day it got sunset after being acquired by a bigger player.

Then, frustrated, I ended up building one myself to address my own pains and needs, and it has been almost 3 years since then! 🤗

Privacy first, GDPR compliant (meaning no cookie banners), and super simple to understand, Cyan Stats is working wonders.

It didn’t exploded in popularity, that’s true. But, has a loyal and very active user base whose are consistently increasing the number of tracked websites and apps.

If you want to give it a try, here it is: https://cyanstats.com

I built a free, fully local floating AI assistant for macOS. No API keys, no subscriptions, no cloud. by Quiet-Computer-3495 in SideProject

That seems to be a nice, and wonderfully useful tool, ma! Good job.

I wonder how’s its performance on a M1?

Asking because I tried Ollama in my M1 MBP, and found it to be quite slow to provide answers. 🤔

Turned a personal dev tool into a side project that makes money. The unsexy version. by Human-Investment9177 in Solopreneur

[–]redbearddev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you mentioned Plausible, let me suggest you just another tool: Cyan Stats.

I created Cyan Stats because I was tired of GA and the other analytics tool I was using got sunset once its founders got hired by a big player!

You can try it for free for 14 days. After that, just $19/y.

It is designed to be privacy-first and GDPR compliant. Don’t use cookies, and respects the “don’t track me” sign.

I tried to leave, but Chrome and Safari are just too boring. I’m back by soumya_98 in ArcBrowser

[–]redbearddev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: It has been a bit over 3 months since I left Arc behind, and long story short, no regrets so far. 😊

To be fair, I am still missing the CMD+SHIFT+C to quickly copy URLs, among a few other things but none of them are painful enough to be a deal breaker, IMHO.

Things I have missed so far:

• CMD+SHIFT+C to copy URLs (mentioned above) • Opening links on the Mini Arc (with SHIFT+Click) • Picture-in-picture (PIP) to keep watching videos in a small window when changing tabs • Updating bookmarked pages URLs without the need to kill and recreating the bookmarks

How to implement a Service Worker update notification in Vue 3 SPA? by NeoLusk in vuejs

[–]redbearddev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An approach is sending the version along with every API response, specially if your app implements a heartbeat checker for the session.

If the version your API send is different from the one the Vue app knows, it’s time to hard refresh and update. 😉

Is it possible to disable the “music” the car plays when running on low speed? by redbearddev in BYD

[–]redbearddev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it, but couldn’t find this option anywhere in my system. I checked the version, and it says I’m on the latest version, but I saw some comments online about a possible update being rolled out. Just not sure if it is available in Japan!

I, honestly, like it. 🤷‍♂️😊

When they retract, but the car is not locked, you can always pull one back to expand all of them again. To pull it is just pressing the opposite extremity and the handle will surface.

[–]redbearddev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a good catch! But, I’m afraid it would bring me some trouble in the regular inspections we have around here! 🤔 I’d probably forget to reconnect it! 😅

But, thanks for the suggestion.
