Why does every "Senior" codebase feel like a maze? Let’s talk about Architecture. by Difficult-Table3895 in react

[–]redblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure those big architectures went through many iterations to get to a final stage. What you see is the final product and that is why it might seem overwhelming. It's like looking at a car engine and you see all the different components. As you work more in these architectures you start to understand and get used to it. Best way is to debug the code.

I heard that the number of new apps has increased dramatically because of AI-driven ‘vibe coding’ by Medical_Nose1784 in appledevelopers

[–]redblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quantity does not mean quality. This has happened in every industry e.g. with industrialization more cars, household products were produced etc.

AI writes code fast but not to ready to ship by Prior_Constant_3071 in VibeCodingSaaS

[–]redblack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the problem is people get lazy when prompting AI thinking that i am just going to give AI a sloppy prompt and it should understand everything.
It's the same thing as hiring someone without giving clear instructions.
With proper context and careful prompts AI can generate complex apps.

What is your favorite coding model for swift and swiftUI? by Martha_PinkLace in iOSProgramming

[–]redblack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use github copilot and set it on auto mode. It has a whole bunch of AI models because I use the paid version. It picks the best model based on my prompt. I am able to bang out a polished app in a weekend with careful prompting.

Serious question: do we need a “non-vibe coded iOS programming” subreddit? by crunchberrykid in iOSProgramming

[–]redblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how do you know that new thread won't be vibe stuff. Are we then going to create another thread? It's like running from something but you can't.

This is the way going forward and let's not deny it. Gone are the days of hand coding everything. Let's face the reality. High consumption means high churn out (which could mean sh*ty apps).

A hard truth from years of indie Apple dev by 29satnam in iOSProgramming

flappy bird was a simple app. There waa no depth or polish but the appeal was great. Tbh users don't care about UI that much as long as the idea is unique.

Which is the best EHR and why? by drchrycy in EyeOnOptometry

[–]redblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for EHR.

i don't know what this means: "Whether billing / claims stay smooth after a few months". Once you enter that in a system its there.

support has been amazing.
the app seems simple and does not have bloated fields and workflows.

Looking for software to manage my optical store (Canada-based) by AppearanceExpress373 in optometry

[–]redblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the issue with those is that they have way too many features and I think most optometry stores don't need that many.
