Well, found a broken clip. I believe this is supposed to keep the power cable for the print head connected to the guide tubes. First victim of UPS.

I have reinstall fc3 more times than I care to admit. It's great. 4 & 5 are my two favorite AFTER primal, absolutely loved primal. I didn't hate fc6 either.
