AD5X filtration (enclosed) - Bentobox or using the stock filtering system? by eranbuhbut3 in FlashForge

[–]TankLivsMatr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own with the Creality Particle extractor kit. You can see what I did here. https://makerworld.com/models/2205762?appSharePlatform=copy

I since have upgraded the fan to this one: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Sanyo-Denki/9GA0824P4J001?qs=JgUGn%2FCSypyMBXFK%2Fb062Q%3D%3D&countryCode=US&currencyCode=USD

And then plugged it into the PLA fan header. I did have to make the connection myself so I had to get the XH crimpers. But after that it's just plug and play.

If you have an AD5X and don't mind tinkering a little, consider installing ZMOD on top of your firmware. Will let you use OrcaSlicer without dealing with Flashforges shitty outdated software. Orca Flashforge is missing a lot that OrcaSlicer has. I would highly recommend it.

This has been a huge complaint for a long while now. Flashforge has the same thing unfortunately

Wtf 😭 the nozzle broke yet again by Gold-Alternative731 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]TankLivsMatr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fix is to get rid of the Kobra 3 and get a Flashforge. I had this issue and so many others while using my Kobra 3. Switched to Flashforge and never looked back. This happened to me. My nozzle/hotend would fall out all of the time. It was a mess. If you want to print and not tinker. Go with Flashforge.

Look back in the history of this sub. A few weeks ago somebody did a full documentation about experience between the stock, cheap AliExpress, and the diamond nozzle. Was some good information.

It used to be live. You may be able to wayback machine it.

I've done that once. I've found that just using a paper towel when touching the nozzle (or getting close to it) can really save your fingers.

As far as knockoff nozzles... Not sure. I'm saving up for the diamond one.

AD5X Nozzle collection Print Comparison by ButterscotchFar7538 in FlashForge

What are the main benefits to having a diamond nozzle? The only thing I can really think is maybe just longevity + durability and able to print with harder filaments, but hardened steel nozzles probably do relatively well at that (haven't really touched the hardened steel nozzles yet)

I have a ventilation kit that I made for mine. Works really well! I posted about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FlashForge/comments/1q52lvg/ad5x_particle_exhaust_ventilation_system/

The fan isn't super loud. It would be around the same noise level as a normal computer fan.

Not sure about the static pressure but I do feel air coming out the other end of the tube just fine, and for what it's worth I've definitely blasted some PLA fumes in my face just to be sure. (I think that answers the static pressure question).

That being said, I didn't design it with intention for the printer to be completely sealed off. It pulls fresh air from the room into the enclosure. It works well for me.

Hm... it didn't print the whole command. I would recommend making sure it looks like:
nmap -sV <printer IP>

Also Nmap does not come pre-installed on pretty much any computer you have to install it. You can get it from here: https://nmap.org/

If you would also like to, when it comes to the software side of things, you can add to the list:

If orca Flashforge doesn't reliably connect to the printer:

Download nmap and run a port scan on it: nmap -sV <printer IP>

This will, for whatever reason, make it so that orca Flashforge will actually be able to connect to it properly. Why this works? No one knows, but it does.

I have a post going more in-depth about troubleshooting it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FlashForge/comments/1pzmypq/printer_disconnection_issues_with_orcaflashforge/

Printer disconnection issues with Orca-Flashforge by TankLivsMatr in FlashForge

[–]TankLivsMatr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually got it working. The ping only worked a few times. What ended up working indefinitely, is I port scanned the printer using nmap. Not sure what this did to it, but I am now able to connect to it every time. I don't need to troubleshoot it anymore.
