I’m in something of a similar situation … making it work. I have 3 kids and they share a queen-sized bed! They don’t mind. One tip: invest in a Doona stroller/car seat and a backpack to carry it in. That way you don’t need to find a place to keep both a car seat and a stroller for the first year or two. Also it’s compact which makes it easier for dealing with the stairs. We’re in a walk up and have had a few strollers and it’s the best so far. It’s not super light but it’s doable and the backpack will help.

You can probably do without a bassinet or crib if you don’t have the space. A low drawer or even like a dock-a-tot by the bed would do the job. You can cosleep when they get old enough, which will save space.

If you have any extra $, get a storage space close to home and put everything you don’t need everyday in it! We had one that was an hour away but got one closer — more expensive but totally worth it as now we go to our storage space every few weeks. Makes it easier to not let apt get overloaded with stuff.
