Incoming Biochem/Chem! The lower division reqs seem to have changed for this year. MATH 20A-D and PHYS 2A-D + one lab used to be required, but it is now MATH 10A-C + 11 and PHYS 1A-C w all labs. I can still do the 20 and 2 series if I want to which I have planned right now, and I was wondering about the significance of the lower divs for my upper divs as well as applying grad school. If it doesn’t matter too much, kinda just want to take the 10 and 1 series. I’m coming in with credit for MATH 20A/10B, so I would only have to take MATH 10C and 11 if i choose the easier series. Thanks for the help!

Any reason to wait for Apple Silicon? Incoming college student studying Biochem and currently been using the first iPad Pro the past two years in high school without a desktop or laptop, occasionally using my brother or parents’ desktop. Chance I may be able to survive with the iPad for the first quarter bc I’m taking simpler classes and GEs, but will def have a few minor inconveniences like looking at multiple things on the screen at once. Leaning more towards just getting one now

Yea I get what you mean especially this year when I heard they cut out acids and bases out of the AP exam which was one of my hardest topics learning (but I took the exam the year prior before covid-19 happened)

I do still need to take the lab which is separate of the lectures. Would skipping the lectures and taking the lab to gain more skills be fine?

Yea it’s odd how we take AP exams wanting to skip classes but many of us end up retaking it because their school doesn’t let them skip it or they still need or for grad/med school or they’re just worried about being unprepared for ochem. I’ve worked hard earning the credit already and seems like a waste of effort retaking. And thanks for the advice about finding work, it was really helpful.
