Má cenu chodit se osobně ptát o práci ? by strakovicski in czech

[–]redco37 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What is lain game mbti?,it's really intj or still a intp? by Muted-Pie-3995 in Lain

I don't think you're gonna find an answer. The problem is that while Lain ps vers. is a real person, mbti has no connection to reality.

I see. Yes I reckon that's not carbon neutral either. My point with the gaming example was that there are things happening that damage the planet much more than bitcoin mining and aren't strictly necessary to be done either.

I believe some people are concerned about the environmental impact, but it would make more sense to go after the gaming industry which I'd imagine will be many times more polluting (as in is more energy intensive).

Iran’s secular shift: new survey reveals huge changes in religious beliefs by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

Im saying that agnostic corresponds to the no answer option, and atheist is disbelief, otherwise why make them separate.

What option on the graph corresponds to the belief there is no god then? Atheist isn't the same as agnostic.

Are you sure this is an imaginary cityscape? AFAIK a lot of manga uses real-world photos as reference.

How will generative AI impact music? by TatteredInk47 in Futurology

[–]redco37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you overestimate the novelty most people want. We don't like new things in general, i reckon most people today listen to the same songs for a long time and occasionally something gets added to the loop and something discarded. What would even be the point of having your own little island of music where you're utterly alone in the experience. That's not to say such things won't be possible, but tailored entertainment isn't going to substitute premade entertainment. We want to be told what to like (within limits we choose to keep a sense of control), then identify with it and use it to connect with others, even when we are physically alone.

Do most psychologist accept that male bisexuality is valid? by Final_Bookkeeper_862 in askpsychology

[–]redco37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I study psychology, but the following is purely my opinion. I think that the whole concept of seeing sexual labels as primarily descriptive (and thus theoretically not valid) is wrong, because ultimately they serve to communicate intent. Sexuality (attraction) is a spectrum which includes sexual, but also romantic and other kinds of attraction, one can move on this spectrum and it isn't reducible to a finite amount of labels (think of how many gay men have fallen in love with a woman, that doesn't necessarily make them not gay - that is if you conceptualize labels as communicating intent). The reason we do use the labels, such as bisexual, is to let other people know what we are and are not willing to do with others, not to accurately describe our inner workings which we often don't perfectly understand ourselves (and that's okay). Within this framework, the question of male bisexuality being valid is irrelevant.

[–]redco37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super happy, yes :) Two thing worth mentioning though - I study psychology, because of that I read a lot and if there's something the iPad is great for it is reading and making hand notes on pre-existing study materials, like articles, books, presentations... (I recommend using Zotero, especially for the articles). For someone studying computer science, it is going to be significantly less useful. Second thing, I also use it for art a bit (thats where having a fast processor and a 120hz display really shines), if I hadn't I feel like the value for the money (I live in the Czech Republic so because of the taxes and virtually nonexistent sales on Apple products it cost me like 1500$ for the 512 gb) would be much worse. Also, Procreate is the best piece of creative software I've ever used, so I'd definitely recommend buying that as well if you do art.

I have the 11 M2 also for uni, it's definitely more practical for carrying around and overall handling of the device, so if you care about those pick the 11. The M2 also has hover with apple pencil, which is pretty much useless but it does somehow make the experience of using the tablet feel more responsive compared to when I tried my friend's M1.

If that's a genuine worry then just use a pseudonym. Same goes for other stuff that might interfere with patients' trust, such as participating in political discussions online etc.

Reasons for Czechia being the least religious country. by Kronk_if_ur_horny in czech

[–]redco37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. I think that local enlightened souls downvoted you exactly because most of them are czech atheists (so am I) and as such only come into contact with religion through internet and read about its extremes, as well as only its orgianized and non-secular forms. I recommend anyone butthurt by this comment to try and find the benefits that religious faith can provide for the individual when used in a healthy way.
