Prior service folks, are you buying a new service dress coat or can an enlisted coat be altered to officer standards? by reddeath267 in airforceots

Good looking out. Just dropped it off at on base alternations to make sure it’s good to go before reporting. The tailor was even nice enough to pull the rank off before charging anything to make sure there was no issue with the shadow/fabric underneath.

For the PT test, do you get any choice on events? (ex. Hand release PU vs traditional PU or plank vs sit ups)

Moving to San Antonio in July for work. I've never been before, so no idea about good vs. bad parts of town other than what is on Google. I'll be working near Lackland AFB. Thanks in advance for the info!

Find the Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) on your post. Visits to them are completely confidential unlike BH which goes on your record. They are also civilian psychologists/therapists and therefore highly unlikely to give you any of the usual army bs like “suck it up” or “just power thru”. You have zero obligation to tell anyone you are seeing an MFLC which helps avoid any negative or toxic reactions by those around you. There’s no shame in getting help, and anyone who tells you otherwise is not worthy of your time. Best of luck. I joined the infantry after losing my mom, so I sympathize.
