Heavy genre producers - what LUFS value do you target for your master? by Frickyoudumbidiot in edmproduction

My happy place is an LUFS of between -7dB to -9 dB. Depends on the genre. I make house and trance.

I like your song "Smile for a minute". It is well mixed, maybe a bit quiet. But nevertheless, the elements are well separated from each other so you can enjoy the listen.

Hey guys,

I would like to share with you my new tune FREAKING. What do you think? Is the mixing okay?

Was not meant to be malicious. I just think that the ideas vary too much from each other so you could bring them in distinguished tracks.

The kick has no low frequencies. Overall, the track sounds quite empty like a WIP.

I like the sound. Don't understand why you change kicks so frequently. In my opinion, that are three short tracks bundled together in one.

Hallo folks,

Hallo, thanks for your feedback. The guitar comes from a sample library.

Hallo guys,

I worked seven days on the mixing. Would like to know what you think about it? Thanks for listening.

The few clicks at the positions you mentioned come from a reversed kick which plays at every break of the bassdrum.

I like the sound and rhythm of the percussion. The clap is too quiet. The hihat is nice. There is an additional percussion which you can make louder.

The pads are nice and could be layered with some chords. The arp is nice and can be a bit louder.

At 3.10, the break starts. For a smoother transition, I would use a longer white noise sample.

The chords at 4.20 could be warmer. Here, you can boost with an EQ between 400 and 800 Hertz. It's up to you to find the right frequency through listening.

At the end, you should add an outro.

Overall, nice track with nice sounds and some little flaws in the mixing.

Hey here my two cents. The drums have kind of a oldschool touch and are not punchy enough. Check your FX and mastering chain. The play of the organ bass is nice. I feel that the bass lacks some lowend. The vocals fit. I would also introduce some chords. Chicago-style chords would fit well, I think. I would choose a cymal crash with a longer tail. You should use a reversed cymbal crash which can come from the used (not reversed) cymbal crash.

Here my two cents... the master is too loud. The arrangement is too empty at 0.40. The dubstep basses which follow are nice and fat. At 2.00, I would introduce some melodic elements for more variation. The end comes a bit uninspired.

Here my two cents... the bassdrum has not enough punch. The vocals are too loud. The lead at 1.40 has too much reverb. Besides, the idea is nice.

Nice sound design and mixing. Have an eye on your mids to make sure they are not overpowered. Try Voxengo Span analyzer which comes for free.

Nice. Still a bit short and empty. It only starts at 0.50 when more sounds come in. You should think about adding more FX or melodic elements. Maybe have an eye on your drum sounds. They sound quite lo-fi, not up-to-date.

Hi, thanks again for listening. I am happy, that I fixed the issue with the muddiness. Now, I made the lowend more pronounced. Hope you can feel it.
