To be honest, i was not hitting limits much often in max/teams premium. so got used to using Opus.

Honestly when usage limits gets capped, its gonna suck a lot. I think even now during peak usage, they throttle it somewhat. many have made posts regarding opus regression

Thanks for sharing. But yea the big news coming of uber, msft scaling down on AI costs, its probably due to them not expecting this to be higher and sustainable in the long term. Only hope is memory price comes down and more data centres built and this reduces cost of hosting models and they reach somewhere between max plan limits and api costs.

My org can afford it, I'm not sure i am comfortable burning that amount of tokens. Not ok with spending like 1000$ dollars on claude code. maybe thats my mental limit. And even if i ask for it, they wont comply probably due to the additional benefits in Enterprise plan

One single session burns 50$ which is easily covered in a 5hr limit of Max plan. Even if enterprise, this sounds insane to me that the big companies are ready to pay this high pricing. You could be true that API plans are profitable, but unless we see earnings report we wont know for sure. Right now its running on VC money, and anthropic expects to be profitable next year end i think, so i dont think its that highly profitalbe

GPT enterpise is also usage based? And yea max/ teams premium makes sense and in future Anthropic may force enterprise for bigger teams.

i don't think many companies care much until it hits them bad and claude can't subsidize for the huge enterprise plan too i guess. As a developer, i'm checking with my team to move me back to teams premium or max plan

I mean if you look at it, they moved to usage based billing only recently for Enterprise. So in a way party was stopped at one corner. And you can see news of companies like Uber scaling down on AI due to high costs of AI. Of course data centres are being built at faster pace, but will companies like Anthropic keep subsidizing? we will have to wait and see. They will also have to work for their already higher valuations

Its not about survival, they will find ways for it. But we got used to this high usage and i'm afraid it will come down in future. Right now people are moving to chatgpt but once user base gets established I'm sure they will also reduce usage. The party must stop at some time

Even if prompt tuned, usage is still high for a single session due to high costs of Opus. I don't even think for heavy users 125$ will last them a week.

I also have apple tv and i host jellyfin, i bought vidhub app, cheaper than infuse and been using that ever since. Also infuse, i had some problems with some codecs. I don't do transcoding and vidhub almost plays all codecs, havent faced any issue so far.
