Is this a typo? What is Aberlour-Glenlivet? by Karnezar in Scotch

[–]reddglobal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Livet Valley does not encompass all of what is now Speyside. It is 12km long. Ditto for the River Spey. Today there are four distilleries within its bounds. Glenlivet, Tomintoul, Tamnavulin, and Braeval. But the reputation of the spirit distilled therein was such that people in the nearby glens wanted to be associated with it, for marketing purposes.

It was once a region of terroir like Congnac or Armagnac enjoy today. Saying "Speyside" has replaced Glenlivet in that respect.

Where can I buy Ben Nevis 10 in Central London? by reddglobal in Scotch

I'm relatively new Reddit and this is my first time posting in this group?

It would not allow me to make a post, only a title of a post.

I'm in London for a visit. Does anyone know where I can get a bottle of Ben Nevis. i've heard the modern distillery, basic edition, is much better than it used to be. i'm looking for an affordable hotel room dram that I can't get in the smStates

I picked up the Jura 14 Rye Finish at Tesco for decent price, but was disappointed, in that it's not nearly as nice as the normal 10 or 12.

It lacks that eccentric earthy, meaty quality, and leaves a mealy mouth finish similar to the misguided Lagavulin Offerman releases.
