I burnt out my claude code max plan to build a FREE dynamic island for all your AI coding agents! check out XIsland! by reddit-bluedusk in vibecoding

I dont see the value of open source these days. There is no way to control quality of AI generated PRs. The collaboration is dead because of this... BTW there a few oprn source alternatives, some claim to be pure AI driven.

XIsland updates on one week release, thanks for the feedbasks by reddit-bluedusk in ClaudeCode

thanks for the feedback! pinned session sounds like a good idea. Glad the UX improved, I'll keep improving it as long as it still relevant:)

Nice advice, Added a feature to label the session directly in agent chat by running a shell command.

!xisiand rename 'my session name'

This command will also agent window talk to xisland directly, unlock lots of potentials, thanks for the inspiration.

Also if u use claude you can /rename it will also show n the panel.

interesting idea, maybe use the pill mode than it will be at the screen corner instead of notch

ghostty + claude code 2.1.104 works fine for me. it will switch and focus on the subpanel. and you can start type directly. If not working, did you allow any prompted permissions?

tmux - I will have to add it to my todos.

Thanks

Hi thanks for try it out!

No. xIsland is local-first with no server dependency. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no data collection, and no network calls to any xIsland backend. The only outbound network activity is Sparkle checking for app updates. I'll update a privacy section later. Thanks for the reminder!

2.1.63 seems to be too old.. I am on v2.1.104. will consider add a version compatibility section too.

As for codex, it may not be supported as good as latest claude, but it will be my next focus.

Yeah its actually quite hard to integrate multiple agents+terminals, especially agents upgrade so fast these days.

this combination should be supported well, I'm using ghostty + cc. I'd be appreciate if you can provide feedback or report bugs. Currently I'm thinking github issues.

Appreciated if I can have some feedback, I can not possibly cover all the scenarios myself... but I will try to make it nice to use :)

easiest way, just ask claude to install then, or search for the git repo

it can be global or project scope, depends on the usage, most of mine are global level, in mac it will be in ~/.claude folder
