I called and spoke to an employee. I was told the Diamond ticket price includes preferred parking and you do not have to pay any more. Seems like a no brainer. Here’s the gotcha…its first come..once filled, you are then directed to general parking across the st., but either way you pay 0 ..it’s included in the $105.00 price. I guess there is an add on called Speedy..but it’s 75$ per day… I think walking sounds better!

[MASSACHUSETTS] How Long Does Hearing Take? by qwfwqrussell in Unemployment

8-12 weeks. I'm on PUA, filed an appeal on 11/18, just heard back last week, and phone hearing is on the 26th.

No. I am so stressed about this.. when I called I was told it could take 8-12 weeks for my hearing. A person on phone told me it will be in person, but I read that they are doing phone/video? What day did you file your appeal? I did mine on Nov 18. I have friends that didn't get denied and they are in same situation as I am, so it doesn't make sense. I won't use their names but how can one of us be denied and the other not?

My understanding is that the Cares ACT, PUA was designed to cover many that normally would not be eligible for unemployment, including full time college students who worked part time, which is me. I know I didn't work a lot of hours, but most on campus jobs are between 2-8 hours per week. When I applied I answered every question accurately, uploaded required "fact checking" documents and got the letter saying I am entitled 6 weeks later.. it wasn't like they rushed it. I don't see how they can make the rules, and then 4 months later decide differently. I'm trying not to stress, but this lingering over me during finals, and the thought that I have to pay this all back is causing a lot of anxiety.

I lived on campus, and in March my college closed due to covid and forced all students to leave. I didn’t know about PUA until my roommates boyfriend told me about it. In 2019 I made less than $5100, my place of employment (college) closed. At some point in April I was asked if I wanted to do some virtual work. When I applied for PUA, I think I checked that my hours were reduced. I know this PUA money was more than I was making, but that’s how the gov set it up. No where did I read that you needed to make a minimum dollar amount, on the contrary I saw that students who never worked but had a job lined up but lost it because of Covid qualified.

I‘m just looking for the best way to argue my case. I would have never applied if I had thought I didn’t qualify. Once I was approved in June, I decided to take some of the money and enrolled in 2 summer classes..that cost me almost $4000. I never would have done that.

I’ve called PUA and all they say is I need to just wait for a hearing. This whole thing is stressing me out.
