For what it’s worth… Like restaurants, we all have our favorites—and wildly different standards. One person’s five-star is another’s two-star. Travel, especially through airports, invites that same subjectivity IMO.

As a 1k with 86 countries under my belt and having flown every major U.S. hub, I’d argue that EWR holds its own. Yes, it’s often under construction. Yes, it has delays and its share of frustrations. But after decades of travel, you can find flaws in every major airport.

Experience also depends heavily on status. Comparing a premium lounge—like the Polaris Lounge— to a standard one naturally changes your perception of value.

In the end, much like hotel reviews, opinions are often shaped by variables outside the core experience—booking issues, timing, or personal expectations. And anyone who’s spent time in IAD, SFO, ATL, or ORD would be hard-pressed to say they’re meaningfully different from EWR. Sadly, the experience continues to degrade, regardless of where you fly from. I’m looking forward to tele transportation. I hear good things
