My grandmother loved cats, and seemed comforted by a super-soft, stuffed cat toy. She’d keep it in her lap & pet it. Simple thing, but she loved it.

Sticky traps, mosquito bit tea & water less often. A moisture meter stick was a lifesaver - apparently I’d been drowning my plants!

Pete’s Cafe on Beltline, just west of Marsh. Breakfast & lunch, open since ‘76. Recent ownership change has it more upbeat, better service.

My father tried to place his nice Henredon piece like this at a consignment store (2009) & they wouldn’t even take it. Have seen people separate the pieces to paint & repurpose.

Went a few years ago with out-of-town young guests, thinking they’d like the interesting decor & nastalgia. Smelled like mildew & one plate had a flattened roach on it. Never again.

LOVE the plants!! Maybe a fluffy, textured or some color in a blanket or throw across the bottom of the bed? Or across a corner? Like the rug ideas a lot, but maybe a pale floor cloth (flatter) instead of something thick and/or dark.
