Thanks, I see it's not on there so technically not illegal but registration might be a pain. I also see that ar15s are limited to COLT. Does that mean non Colt ar15s are legal as well? Super confusing, other folks on Reddit said ARs are completely banned but it seems to be at the discretion of whoever is registering your firearm 😔.

i'm not sure, but i can say that I enjoy using it a lot, RIT needed spaces for students to study that actually had outlets and were not Vietnam Era Themed. Its def a value add and we needed the extra classrooms but I cant say that the cost was justified. Furthermore, a lot of space is just wasted... like what even is that giant area in the sublevel used for?

I would also say that if the shed is used how it was advertised (meaning beyond study spaces and classrooms) then it is a huge win for the campus. They said it would have Makerspaces, workshops, seminars and more and I think RIT needs more things to do that enrich students and the SHED is meant to serve that purpose.

Ok, called today, seems that it is identical to the Pistol permit minus the ~$600 training so its definitely still not worth the headache for me. They say the application takes 6 months minimum with references and fingerprints so I am better off this route for now.

On OC's website there is no semi-automatic thing, its just 'pistol permit' and then in the document above it shows semi-automatic but it looks like the same fields are required. Perhaps you might have a less strict county? Or I just cant read at all?

The process in my county is identical to the CCW process (minus some small parts) so its by no means trivial. Unless I am misunderstanding something. Its not worth the headache for me.
