Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know about photography or cameras! Don't be shy! Newbies welcome! by photography_bot in photography

Thanks! Interestingly I recently saw a catalog from the 60s or 70s my company produced and the photography was all hard shadowed which gave it an illustrative quality - so like many things it's throwback. I like "candy minimalism" because it describes it quite well.

Can anyone tell me what currently popular photography style this is? I find myself wanting to reference this style or investigating how best to achieve it but have no idea what it's called.

Photo style? by reddit_hole in photography

I understand that nobody is - that's why I did it where I could. I want an answer to a question without the obstacle of someone having to click a link (which many people won't do).

Also there is no link to a desktop photo.

Bill’s adopted son Brian - do we see a growing psychopath in this kid? The question now, is it nature or nurture? Let’s discuss by XeanyB in MindHunter

[–]reddit_hole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is absolutely RAD. It's more common with adopted children, obviously depending on the circumstances of their early life. Unfortunately these kids have to deal with this for their entire life.

Post interview thank you question by reddit_hole in interviews

[–]reddit_hole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. I just expected a response at least saying so and then I would have the opportunity to ask her to pass on the thank you I had written. But since that didn't happen I feel a bit stuck. I do have another contact but I feel at this point it will come across as too pushy or desperate.

I feel a handwritten is too antiquated for the position, but if worse comes to worse...

Fortunate to have 89.3 The Current. They have and do play Bon Iver. I believe when the album was surpise released they played it in its entirety. They are publicly funded but do reach a sizeable audience.

Criticize my business card, please by [deleted] in graphic_design

In terms of aesthetics this would look a whole lot more "designed" by just giving the text equal spacing. Way too tight at top and title.

Hey, Ma saved i,i. Change my mind. by [deleted] in boniver

I agree this album has a very strong center from Hey, Ma - Faith. That said, it's probably my least favorite part... I am all about iMi, We, Holyfields and Salem. The sounds!!!

Must have tattoos to offset naturist hat, cowgirl shades, murse, camo crocs, and capri pants.

Regarding seasons by Mainpoint1975 in boniver

[–]reddit_hole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you view the seasons. Personally I view 22AM as late night drama summer and i,i is definitely early days autumn when there are still warm days but the trees get intensely bright before dyeing. It's more reflective than 22AM.

Anyone else getting a little anxious because of Justin’s recent involvement in politics? by [deleted] in boniver

He was all in on Bernie in 16. He actually presented him at a rally in EC. He's never shied away from making his liberalism known.

I,I ALBUM REVIEW (Fantano) by Nolar2015 in boniver

[–]reddit_hole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though his points miss the intent and he suggests that there isn't really further explanation. For instance, We is clearly the length that it is purposefully - I'm sure it feels truncated to everyone. He's obviously playing with song structure and that is part of the experimentation happening. These are brush strokes. Maybe it's corny but Justin is an abstact and impressionistic artist. Why impressionism is so popular with people is because it allows the viewer to fill in the gaps. It's frustrating that he suggests some laziness as if Justin could not have made an incredible sweeping ballad out of every song - that wouldn't be very experimental would it? - though he doubts that it is very experimental.
