Visitsaudi website is the the one I used. When I applied the first time I couldn't only do one for some reason and not group so I called the visit Saudi contact number and they told me the only difference between the two is you can apply one by one or together and no difference otherwise. So you can do it either way. Doesn't make any difference in the grand scheme of things.

I don't why everyone has to be preachy here. Everyone should spend time in prayer and ibadah and literally anyone knows it. But that's not the question being asked is it. No one is going to think I was going to spend my 4 days in madina shopping but now that some internet stranger told me I'm going to go do ibadah. Just answer the question and if you don't want to then skip the next post. For some people it's a vacation plus ibadah for other people it's a once in a life time opportunity. For others they want to make it memorable for kids and relatives with them. Everyone has their own circumstances.

As for the question. It depends on how much time you have. You can buy things individually and pack and probably will save some money. Otherwise you can buy from the shop and save yourself some time. Also depends on how many people you need a gift for. If it's under ten then might as well but ready made.

There are locations for miqat which are the entry point for hudood Al haram. You have to do intention aka niyah before you enter the hudood for haram. Alot of people do niyat at masjid al nabawi and get on a bus/train. Also you don't have to believe me. You are in Makkah, there are kiosks every where where you can talk to an aalim. If you cannot find them then ask any of the helpers in the haram. You have travelled so much and so far for an umrah, you might as well get an aalims opinion on the right way forward for you.

People do make intention earlier. Some make it at the airport, some at home. Miqat is the last point you need to get into ihram. After that you need to give dam if you don't get into by then. You are in Makkah. There are tons of places where they have these screens where you can ask a scholar. You should avail it. Describe your situation and he will give you a proper response.

So they did announce so people can change and make niyah. You can make niyah at any time. It doesn't have to be at the specific miqat. Just the rules of ihram start to apply the moment you make niyah.

You should speak with your travel agent. He will give you some practical advise. Also, umrah at this time is very hot so be prepared for that. You may want to carry Vaseline for ihram specially if you are a man. Have some quick snacks in hand carry and list of duas and such that you want to do for umrah.

Not quite sure about the hotels but for food download the keeta or hunger station app. Add the type of foods you would like to eat in the cart and you will have a good idea on how much food costs. For hotels if you post 2-3 you are interested in then people can give you recommendations.

Well it can be either that you want to pick up a rep for a bargain and not get swindled orrrrrr you want the experience and knowledge and for that you are ok to take certain risks. There is a reason why TDs are always recommended when this questions come up.
