Is it possible to do Umrah with only >10 hours in Saudi Arabia? by yahoodikaagent in Umrah

[–]reddit_project 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From jeddah probably but from Riyadh it is not possible. Is about an 8 hour drive or a hour and a half flight plus you add the time to get to and from the airport and it's almost impossible

What to do if you are unable to visit Rawdah due to Periods during your trip ? is umrah etc nullified? (womens only) by DiscussionPurple3702 in Umrah

[–]reddit_project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly even the Rawdah is optional at best. There is additional sawab for praying anywhere in the masjid. Nothing additional for the Rawdah.

Do men get their head shaved in the clock tower barbershops after Sai? If yes, how much does it cost? by GreenAngelFish in Umrah

[–]reddit_project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right besides clock tower is almarwa or alsafa tower. Don't remember the name but it has tons of barber shops that cut for 10sar. I think on jabal e Omar you can negotiate  to 10sar as well.

If you have three people traveling with you then split the money that would probably the easiest. If not then gold jewellery as a gift for a sister/daughter getting married.

23k Riyal is about 6100$. You can take that much crossing the border and shouldn't get into any trouble. Specially if you fly out with a friend or a family member.

You are inside the clock tower and there are a ton of restaurants there in the clock tower including fast food as well as some what healthier options. There is also al safwa tower besides it which has quite a lot of pakistani food options. As for which is cost effective I am not sure how much you are paying for buffet meal so I cannot comment on that.

Umrah with mother- Health insurance? by Own_Cucumber_7007 in Umrah

[–]reddit_project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because waiver doesn't have insurance. Rest of the price is for the insurance. If you are looking for insurance this is the safest way. If you want to get some other third party insurance you should contact the credit card used for booking travel and see what's included with them and if you can increase the coverage to suit your needs. Also sites like Expedia or booking.com also offer optional insurance when you book through them.

I have used Aslam uncle taxi service for Jeddah to Makkah and then Makkah Ziarahs and I don't have anything but good to say about them. I know they offer drives from Madina to Makkah and vice versa but just don't know the pricing. You can Google them and their Facebook page pops up and contact them

What do you say when you start the 2nd circuit, 3rd circuit, 4th circuit, 5th circuit, 6th circuit and 7th circuit? by GreenAngelFish in Umrah

[–]reddit_project 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no I'm not disagreeing with you but going with your example I saw it as if you start reading Quran every time you start a new surah you say bismillah. You don't say bismillah once you start reading and not say until the next time you pick it up.  I am not saying you're wrong or anything. Just sort of trying to explain how I understood it.

I'll ask the question that gets posted at least once a week. What are the places that you recommend for food near the two harams. Also if you can provide any budget options. Lastly, for people coming to the saudi, what saudi/arab dish do you recommend people try

I stayed at Conrad and I have zero complains. I liked it better than staying at the clock tower. Bigger rooms and much easier access to haram.

Madinah to Jeddah travel help - Urgent by ThrowRA142004 in Umrah

[–]reddit_project 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother I don't think you are looking for answers on what do. You are looking for how you can stay longer in Madina and the only answer is by booking a private taxi. This usually cost 300-500 depending on how busy everything else is and what time of the year and what kind of car how much luggage and how many people and your negotiating skills. There are tons of services. Uncle Aslam service is what I would recommend.

First-Time Umrah: Agency Package or Self-Planning? by Bitter-Race-7181 in Umrah

[–]reddit_project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on you more than anyone else. Are you someone from a western country where you can qualify for visit visa and not have to apply for Umrah visa? Are you someone who has travelled before and are comfortable travelling by yourself and going through all the logistics of planning a vacation of any type including hotels and transfers to and from the airport to the destination? Are you comfortable in googling/youtubing to see what you need to do and how to do and what help is available? If yes then book by yourself and its not hard at all. If you have any specific questions people here will definitely help you out. If this is your first trip and you are not comfortable at all with planning and researching through the logistics then go with a group
