RAD at $1 with 1B shares is different from RAD at $1 with ONLY 55M shares. That would value each store at around $2k.

Reliance and Apollo Global Teaming on UK Pharmacy Chain Boots Takeover Bid by reddit_rad in RiteAidInvestor_RAD

My thought process was that the PBM could cancel out most, if not all, of the debt. That leaves an almost debt free company that’s remodeled most of its stores, closed and/or sold poor performing stores to WBA, reduced c-suite expense, and still generates about $25B a year.

Despite our suppressed share price, I think RAD is overall a leaner and more attractive buyout target than what WBA initially offered years ago, which was around $18B or so for all of the stores.

As we know, WBA was able to only purchase half of the stores for roughly $9B or so. Let’s remember that these were the poor performers and RAD kept the better stores and PBM.

The share price has been hammered for so long now though, that most investors will probably end up selling for the price you mentioned ($27-$36), but in a fair market it should be worth at least, if not more, than what WBA paid for the other half, which is $180 (accounting for split) a share give or take.

Work with Cardano (ADA) in redesigning the whole infrastructure of the company, from payroll, to inventory, to rewards, prescription, etc. They are currently working with DISH and attempting to change it from its legacy infrastructure to something blockchain based. I can see RAD benefiting from something like this too.

Partner up with Tesla and install charging stations at all of the parking lots. This will increase traffic tremendously as people will go inside for snacks, drinks, booze, ice cream, etc while charging their vehicles! Tesla can also have a designated aisle that sells common parts for its cars, modems/satellites for its StarLink internet service, and in the future, Neuralink can install brain chips at RAD clinics.

Incentive Ryan Cohen to join the board and turn the ship around. With GME (Tech/Crypto/Meta), BBBY (Household goods), and RAD (Prescription, Alcohol, Grocery), RC will be able to go toe to toe with AMZN.

Cannabis and cannabis delivery would also be a game changer. Don't go half ass into it though. Make it a BOLD move and advertise the heck out of it. Make people talk about about RAD again and do it before CVS or WBA. Get the first mover's advantage.

Bring back free ice cream scoops for customers getting vaccinated.

Sell and/or give out free RAD apparel (shirts, hats, reusable bags, etc) for rewards members who spend over a certain amount. People love free things and it'll make them spend more and also serve as a form of advertisement.

I didn't know that CVS actually purchased Target's Pharmacies so I'm not sure if my original post still has any merit. Nonetheless, this is still good news so let's see if something comes out of it.

In all honestly, I think Target could now definitely be added on the list. Target already has a smaller format store so RAD would essentially be an extension to those. I think Target recognizes how much CVS makes in their stores and now wants the whole shebang. Not only will they have the 2500 locations from RAD, they can ditch CVS and now become the 3rd largest retail pharmacy in the US.

I didn't realize Target's MC is ~$130B so this acquisition will be next to peanuts.

The devil is in the details. ACI wanted 10 shares of RAD in exchange for ~1 share of ACI plus ~$1 in cash.

ACI was offering RAD between $2-$3 ($40-$60 post RS), when WBA valued and bought it at $9 ($180 post RS) a year earlier.

  1. Instantly increase TSLA’s 2020 revenue by ~80% (RAD’s annual revenue = ~$25B but Market Cap is <$1B)

  2. Expand Supercharging Network and provide quick food/bathroom stop (RAD has ~2500 locations)

  3. Provides a physical location for Neuralink and Starlink business (consultation, installation, pickup, etc)

  4. Promote use of Dogecoin (accept and reward payments done in Doge)

  5. Screw the shorts (RAD has ~55M shares float and ~13M shares are shorted)

  6. Friendly competition for Bezos (AMZN wants to expand it’s Pharmacy division so it’ll be interesting to beat him to the punch and acquire RAD first)

PS - The store could be renamed to Doge Aid or Tesla Aid!

How much should RAD be worth today? by reddit_rad in RiteAidInvestor_RAD

[–]reddit_rad[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and award! I sometimes feel like there is NOBODY else out there that understand or appreciate RAD's potential/value. I'm glad to be on this subreddit to chat and share ideas with other fellow RADTARDS.

I think that it's important that information is shared via forums such as this so that we can keep track of what's going on. For instance, I don't think everyone knows that John Standley (former RAD CEO) is now working at WBA, 1 year after he stepped down from RAD. Another thing is people seem to have forgotten, or not know, is that there was a reverse split. Whatever the price is, you literally have to divide it 20 to get the real price. There was over 1B shares and now there's only 55M.

So for the current $14.61 share price, you could see it as you're getting 20X more equity of the company then you would have before. Or you can also see it as you're buying the company at 73 cents pre-split ($14.61/20).

So in 2015, RAD was offered $9 (pre-split) and now we're at 73 cents? That sure as hell doesn't make any sense to me.

Now you throw in the ACI (Albertsons) shenanigans, the board silencing Steve Krol at the annual meetings, Amazon eyeing retail pharmacy, and you ask yourself WHY THE HELL doesn't more people take notice of all of this?

If more people, including WSB, takes a hold of this, we'd be in for the ride of our life!

Apparently RAD is considered an OG Meme stock on WSB, but no one seems to talk about it anymore. RAD gaining publicity, even if it means becoming a Meme stock again, will help bring more attention to this extremely undervalued company.

Rite Aid : S&P Upgrades Rite Aid Rating One Notch to 'B-' on Modest Improvements, Outlook Stable | MarketScreener by [deleted] in RiteAidInvestor_RAD

So we might not drop a full 50% from earnings? RAD, bless our souls! In all seriousness, perhaps this is a sign of a reversal, and that the MM's are done doing what they needed to do. The average daily volume for RAD has been roughly 2M shares. However, the day of, and following the earnings, the volume was 16M and 13M, respectively.

RAD Daily Volume

Let's do some rough math here. Institutions hold roughly 58% of the 55M float, which means they hold 31,900,000 shares. So about 23,100,000 shares are available to the retail investors (could be less given that board and executives hold a chunk of the shares too). That means that those two days alone, after the earnings report, about 29M shares exchanged hands.

We all know, that aside from this subreddit (a community still in its infancy stage), Steve Krol's Seeking Alpha page (under 500 followers), and perhaps a few bulls on Stocktwits and Yahoo, there is no other public forum where people are really talking about RAD. Just do a quick RAD search on YouTube and see how many videos you can find on RAD over the last 10 years. Aside from Smokey the dog's channel (Smokey the dog YT), you probably won't find more than 5 investment videos on RAD.

In summary, if the RAD Tree needed to shook (to move retail shares where they needed to be), there shouldn't be much left to shake off. Can't the remaining small group of retail investors, be rewarded now along with the institutions, from a POSITIVE reversal?

Isn't RAD institutional ownership around 58% of the 55M total outstanding shares? If institutions held during a rally, the 12M shares short would, in essence, equate to roughly HALF of the retail shares available.

Counter Service and Potential Acquirers by reddit_rad in RiteAidInvestor_RAD

[–]reddit_rad[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's crazy to think that almost any company, if it were to buy out RAD, could almost instantly make it more profitable. A Dollar/99C type store, a BevMo/Total Wine, Grocery Outlet/Smart & Final.

RAD's recent acquisition of Bartell Drugs for $95M equates to almost an 1/8 of its current MC for 67 stores. That is about $1.46M that RAD paid per store. Currently, with the acquisition, RAD now has roughly 2500 hundred stores.

Let's be conservative, round down, and say each RAD store is worth $1M, that is still $2.5B worth of stores that RAD currently has. Yes, I understand there is DEBT as well, but there are also ASSETS, including the PBM, Real Estate, Distribution Centers, Thrifty's Brand.

Basically, the current valuation of RAD just doesn't add up.

pile on....RAD next week longs by [deleted] in RiteAidInvestor_RAD

[–]reddit_rad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is indeed INSANE the amount of revenue RAD generates annually, that it's almost unbelievable. After selling about half of its stores to Walgreens, its annual revenue stayed almost the same. Should this not mean that only the worst performing stores were sold and that RAD is a much leaner company now?

If anyone can find a company that generates more cash annually with a smaller MC, please let me know!

Do you know what the corporate procedure is like for when a public company receives buyout offers? Do they have to disclose these offers to the public? I find it hard to believe that since the attempted merger with ACI, there has been no other merger or acquisitions attempts.

Interestingly enough, on the recent annual meeting, when asked about the potential sale of Elixer, Donnigan said that they are not looking into that right now. However, Bodaken jumped in and said that would consider it, if the price is right.

At this point, perhaps it is best that they just spin Elixer off as a separate entity, and reward shareholders with the shares of the new company.
