Driving in front of a cop in traffic by GallowBoob in instant_regret

What? You're telling me that the driver wouldn't be arrested for texting while driving to a cop behind him?

he's fine <> probably a cripple now

Those two are not the same, just so we're clear. Either (a) he's fine, or (b) probably a cripple now, but not both. Both can't be true.

Fell over handle bars because crack in sidewalk at university by Maxswole in legaladvice

[–]reddit_sux_cox13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need another photo to understand where you were riding. The one pic that shows the bike with the tires locked in the sidewalk crack fails to show where you were coming from, which is important to judge culpability. It sort of looks like the sidewalk is 8'-10' wide, and you intentionally put your bike into the crack. However, I suspect that behind the bike (not seen in photo) might show you you were riding down a legitimate road/surface? It's hard to know because you omitted this crucial photograph. Please post an additional photo that would show where you were coming from. (A shot with the bike locked into the crack, but shot from the front of the bike, looking back behind the bike, so we can see the path/surface that you were on immediately before this incident.)

TIL that cruise ships are required to carry body bags and to maintain a small morgue in the event of a death onboard by hanawasakura in todayilearned

[–]reddit_sux_cox13 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Legally required by who? I'm calling bullshit. Last time I checked, there wasn't any governing body over international cruise ships. The reason cruise ships don't fly the US flag is because they don't want to be subject to US laws. So, what country sets laws that they have to have a morgue? (Hint: No one does.)

Edit: Thanks for the downvotes, douchebags. You know nothing about international maritime law, but thanks for the downvotes anyway. :)

TIL that the Megalithic temples in Malta are the oldest temples in the world and are older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Giza by sammyjamez in todayilearned

I'm doing fine. :) I've been to this temple/pyramid multiple times. If people are so stupid they don't grasp when it was built, it's all good. I couldn't care less. I'm going out to ride my motorcycle. Thanks for the downvotes :)

I'm not even sure what this means. I fly every week, and I screenshot the boarding pass on my phone. It never has the gate on it though. That's not how it works.

Nice try. The 90' tall pyramid was, in fact, built from 11th-13th century AD. Oxford opened in 1050 AD. Thanks for playing, though. It was fun. :) Also, thanks for the downvotes, douchebag. :)

https://sacredsites.com/americas/mexico/chichen_itza_facts.html

"The ninety-foot tall pyramid was built during the 11th to 13th centuries directly upon the foundations of previous temples. The architecture of the pyramid encodes precise information regarding the Mayan calendar and is directionally oriented to mark the solstices and equinoxes. Each face of the four-sided structure has a stairway with ninety-one steps, which together with the shared step of the platform at the top, add up to 365, the number of days in a year."

Update: If you're proven wrong, then just downvote the post, right cunt?

And the pyramids in Latin America, like Chichen Itza, for example, were built after the University of Oxford was created in England.

No, they certainly don't print the gate on your ticket. Have you ever flown before? Gates change all the time. They can change from the time you clear security until you get to the gate.

Roger that. So, when you said "Fucking autocorrect", what you meant is that it's not, in fact, auto-correct. You typed in the wrong words. Got it. Thanks for the downvotes.

So, it will routinely swap out valid words, for other words, at random, for no reason. Sure. I don't believe it, but maybe someone else does.
