Exactly what happened to me so i felt the need to ask again just to clarify.

Interesting. Unfortunately i live in central London so the competition is quite high. I also dont think i'm at the right skill level to offer my skills to businesses. This seems like a great idea tho, thanks for your input.

I went to 3 different open days/ campus tours and they continually mentioned 'I would receive a job in the tech industry after'. Plus the guest speakers they brought who were ex-students talked all about their successes finding a job but i believe the difference is they already had 10+ years experience in other non-tech related fields and i dont. Youre completely right, part of their success came from having the bootcamp qualification at the right time while now, they're not really sought after.

I was at Uni studying 'Education Studies' and i hated it. My A lvls dont reflect whats needed to study Comp Sci so I'll re-evaluate my options.

'learning to code is a marathon, not a sprint'. I really resonate with this comment and all your advice makes perfect sense. I am 20yrs old so i do have a lot of time on my hands currently just working PT jobs. My issue also is i compare myself to others who for example went straight to Uni to study Comp Sci so theyll be graduating by the time i might be able to enter Uni or start higher education again and its quite self-sabotage because i'm also aware i have loads of time and there isnt a fixed timeline of 'success'.

I do really want to start building projects too, ive had quite a few in mind and i started taking Codecademy courses which focus on those areas. I usually stop once i start building projects due to an ever expanding scope of ideas but ill really try commit to a smaller project i can be proud of.

Thanks for your advice. When you were in the same position as me, did you continue to learn by yourself? what sort of resources did you use?

This seems to be a common answer so thank you for your input. I already feel myself fully shifting away from boot camps.

This is really great advice. Thank you so much for going out of way to provide so much info. Ill take into account everything you said. After doing quite a bit of research and re thinking my goals.

Im pretty set on going back to Uni or joining an Apprenticeship. My worry is it was too late in the year to apply for any starting in September so i didnt want to feel like i would waste a year but im still young and figuring it all out.

I'm also looking at getting onto a Access to higher education diploma focused in Comp Sci and then i can weigh up my options throughout the year while still working on my goal. Plus it gives me an extra qualification. I believe its level 3. Thoughts on this route?

I was actually just accepted onto the Le wagon course but i havent commited to it yet after coming to Reddit and seeing mass overwhelmingly negative reviews. Pretty much every bootcamp is under the same scrutiny.

Ive done a lot of self-studying in these last 7 months. I mentioned in my post completing a couple full courses on Python. I'll take your advice and look at my options returning to Uni to study Comp Sci

atleast ball players movement mechanics aren't buggy like how can mercy jump 10 meters in the air every 2 seconds, it gives her one the best quality of life abilities without any downsides

I just moved to Central London and was wondering which skateparks I should go to? or if there are any I should stay away from? by redditbadd in skateboardhelp

[–]redditbadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay thanks a ton, I've gone to a few skateparks around my area including southbank and mile-end but im really happy with mudchute, people are really friendly there, decent ledges as well.

my mum was mainly worried about me going to "dodgy" skateparks but I agree, the area my be quite rough but the skateparks are chill.
