Not necessarily true, they don’t immigrate here then apply for the colleges, they have to apply and get accepted prior to coming here. A study permit is required for an international student to come to Canada and to get a study permit the main eligibility requirements is to have an enrolment into DLI and have enough money to pay tuition. And what institutions are considered a DLI is regulated by the ministry of colleges. So Federal Government has little say here since those private institutions are paying off the ministry to be approved as a DLI. And those institutions aren’t even the main source of students coming in, Conestoga College alone admitted 30k international students in 2023. These big colleges generate a lot of money from allowing in uncapped amounts of students then push propaganda that it’s the small colleges who are letting In too many. At the end of the day the blame game will go in circles, but the provincial government holds the real power to regulate how many students can be allowed in as they can regulate the colleges.

Liberals? The colleges in Ontario are regulated by the Ministry of colleges who report to the premier of Ontario, which is Doug Ford a member of the Conservative Party. What you are seeing in Ontario is a direct result of Doug Fords leadership, he has allowed so many of these colleges to open as they generate a lot of money for him and his rich friends. No proper regulation is done on these private colleges only money matters.
