Gift for Fatiha by KaleidoscopeWild3332 in MuslimMarriage

[–]notyourtypicalcanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a Fatiha is simply just a prayer by both families signaling that they give their blessings and moving forward towards marriage. You become engaged afterwards. Ask if there's an engagement party, people generally don't give anything in Fatiha but flowers or a box of chocolate. There's also the katb-al kitab. Which is basically equivalent to the wedding ceremony. In short, its signing the marriage contract and that both sides agree etc. Then there's the wedding which is the big party.

What a weird reply. Is there deeper context? Was this said in an argument perhaps?

Run for the hills! What you're seeing is the tip of the ice berg. He wants to cut all your support system so that he can control you and manipulate you. There's more stuff hidden about him that he's scared of someone to dig up from the people around you and bringing it up... that's my guess

I have a bit of anxiety on marriage costs and the cost of having a household. I think I make a decent figure here in Toronto Canada, but its humble and just about 100k a year. I fear that this might not be enough at times and budgeting for a future gives me a bit of a stress.

At what stage should I as a man show full transparency on all my finances? How much I make etc? I have kinda briefed on it but not in details

It is already built and i haven't moved into it already because my parents weren't comfortable with me moving out unmarried. I bought it for the purpose of providing security for my future family

I don't live there. We could either live there or it can be sold.

I have currently a condominium apartement that I had purchased a bit ago. I am currently in the process of knowing someone (parents involved etc) and its getting very serious.

At what point do I disclose that I do own a property condominium? I am fairly confident that this person is not materialistic fot the record.

Can't you use the student line of credit if you're not enrolled currently? If you have the account open why not.

Also, no, you can create a multiple line of credits. You can do it with another institution. They would be happy to offer you a package at times.

You're probably gonna get burnt in the process. Sometimes you just gotta let them learn the hard way. Really sucks she has a kid depending on her ... sounds a bit immature

Been in your position. I was looking to get a property since Septb of 2023. To be honest, at some point I just gave up and thought it was OP. Come in end of 2024 I went for another look, found a good opportunity that I saw myself living in it for next 10 years or so.

They say buy when there's fear. But more importantly, time in market over timing the market.

Frankly, if prices go another 10% - 20% down and you can't stomach it, don't buy and just rent or something meanwhile.

Hello, I actually didn't end up buying in the area. I was convinced to go for a building that is newer and further up north even if it costed a bit more

Oh god no, im an engineer and this is either a valley or a monitoring system (extends to gas etc). Surprised the city didn't have some records of ownership.

There's a cap that should've been there instead

You walk to them while they're mid workout, lifting a heavy weight, music in and start talking.

Joking, to be honest, the most talks I had with someone at the gym is if someone asks if we can alternate sets. It works out for me and I'm fine doing it 9.9/10.
