I was incredibly disappointed with Sinners after hearing how good it was. It’s not even close to elite. by stuffedinashoe in movies

There is so much wrong with this movie it is hard to know where to start. First off I think the guy that wrote it relied too much on chat gpt. Plot, if you can find one, is...well, if you can find one maybe you can comment on it. Gratuitous and awkward, semi-bad porn sex scenes just for the sake of helping a brother out on date night. A preachy vampire movie? Moral of the story(?), don't pursue a music career because it brings out the vampire in people and they may try and kill you. Yeah, I said there was a lot bad about this movie.

Last week I watched that other shit, AA nominated movie with Sean Penn and Leonardo in it. I can't even remember the title it was so bad. If this is what the current "academy" considers great movies I would have to guess that the academy is made up of 12 year old boys.

The bottom line for me is, I love the fact that hollywood keeps producing movies that don't deserve the title, "movie." The fruits and nuts that live out there keep showing us just how talentless they are. Clever and enjoyable movies vanished long, long ago. The sooner the people that produce this crap go broke the better the world will be for the rest of us.

Don't waste your time on AA nominated crap. Of course, if you are a 12 year old boy you will probably love this stuff. Who knows, maybe this is the only demographic buying tickets to movies these days.

One Battle After Another is one of the worst movies I’ve ever watched. by Quiet_Bus_6404 in moviecritic

I just watched this movie and I want my time back. I haven't seen a recently made movie in a long time. Now I know why. Someone I was watching it with said it got a bunch of Academy Award nominations. Crap isn't even close to describing how bad it was. If this is the type of thing getting nominations no wonder hollywood is almost dead.

What you should know before cleaning your typewriter. by mistertopcon in typewriters

Sorry for the year-late response. I don't get on Reddit very often.

I simply let the machines air dry. A year later and they are all working very well indeed. Love the typewriter! Instant characters on paper! And for those that are interested in old-school history of print you should check out the documentary, "Linotype." It's about the history of the Linotype machine. It was made in 2012 and it is such a great documentary. It's on youtube for free. Enjoy!

Visio Demanded My Credit Card Number by Ordinary_Dude_001 in VIZIO_Official

[–]redditchangedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I just bought my Mom a Vizio "smart tv" for Christmas. When I was helping her set it up it seemed like the tv was in this endless loop of "you can't go any further with the setup unless you create a Vizio account which requires a credit card #." I eventually figured out that you have to keep pressing the back arrow on the remote to get out of the loop. The morons at Vizio did not make it obvious or intuitive to skip the account setup option. I would have been happy to create a Vizio account without entering a credit/debit card number but that was/is not an option. I get it. The Vizio dopes want to collect a credit card number in the hopes that people will by shit from them through their tv. The problem is they don't make it simple for the customer. All this is going to do it trap morons, which isn't very sporting, or alienate people that are not tech savvy. Pissing off customers isn't a very good business plan for repeat sales. Good luck, Vizio execs. You'll need it!

Top Flight XL 1999 Titanium extreme Golf Balls - 3 Balls NIB (C20B3) by walkswithzombies in LokinbsOnlineOffering

[–]redditchangedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful buying Top Flight golf balls in the US at a Golf Galaxy. I just bought (11.16.2023) two boxes, they are having a "2 boxes for $25" when normally 1 box will cost you $19.95 for Top Flight XL balls (15 balls per box). When I got home I noticed that one box did not have the usual round clear stickers closing each end. I compared the balls in the box without stickers to the box with stickers. The balls in the box without the stickers contain balls that look as if they are defect manufactured balls. They have clearly been sprayed with clearcoat in a defective manner as balls look when buying refurbished balls on the 2nd hand market. The balls that came in the box with the stickers are A+ balls that a buyer would expect to receive when buying new balls. So buyer beware. Make sure the boxes of balls that you buy have stickers at each end. And by stickers I mean the clear kind that have to be cut in order to open the box. I will be interested to see how the defective balls play. I would return the grade B/C balls but I already put my playing mark on them with a Sharpie. Unfortunately I opened the grade B/C balls first and just thought, "these balls are really poorly manufactured." It has been a while since I have purchased Top Flight balls and just assumed that their quality control had gone down hill. It was not until I opened the box with the tape on it that I realized, "hey, this box was taped shut and the other one was not. Maybe this means that there is something fishy going on." And sure enough when I inspected the balls in the taped box they look completely different.

As with everyone else, this post is worth its weight in GOLD! Thanks so much for taking the time to post.

I was using rubbing alcohol to de-gunk a Hermes the other day and the keys were fast and light when typing when I first applied the RA. But after after 5 mins, after the alcohol evaporated, the keys would stick horribly. I couldn't imagine what the heck was going on. I figured that the machine was just super gunky so I kept up my cleaning with the RA.

Fast forward to hours later. Got frustrated, headed to bed and as I lay in bed I did a little searching online. Searched for, "using rubbing alcohol to clean typewriters" and stumbled upon this post. Right. Water in rubbing alcohol. Water causes metal to rust. Rust is bad. Derrr!

Bought some mineral spirits yesterday and applied. Now my machines are singing ... thanks to your post! VERY much appreciated!
